I've been racking my brain to try to find an explanation why the Utes would let an important game like the game last week vs Oregon get away from them. Oregon should have not won but they did. Why? It was a combination of basically 2 things. First, Utah seemed to lack concentration and focus. That's something like the flu that goes around among the players. I don't know who started it but it spread like wildfire around the team and almost everyone's game was off. Second, Oregon's defense played well. I see this in part at least as a response to the first reason because Oregon players noticed that Utah was vulnerable and it caught on. Everyone has a bad day once in a while and for the Utes last Saturday was a bad day.

At some point the confusion will lift. It's a matter of time. But the team could still be vulnerable to it recurring again and what triggers it could be anything, a stupid mistake etc. Anyone with some experience playing organized sports knows what I'm talking about. It's a head trip like a slump. But the thing to remember is that most teams are subject to an occasional funk.

That being said, I like...

Colorado -10/Utah

Liufau is good for a couple of TDs running the ball himself, maybe more.
At home the Buffs are a force to be reckoned with. They take no prisoners.
After a season has gone by, I am impressed with the completeness coach
MacIntyre has created. Hardly a weakness on the whole team.

More to come...

OR St. +3½, USC -17, CAL +3½ and SDSU -11½ to call them as I see them now.

Would love to hear your thoughts on Udub laying 5.5 vs Wazzu?

Yes I'll make this game a play. First of all UDub is a complete team, like USC or Colorado without any
glaring shortcomings. Their rushing defense and their passing defense are both ranked up there. Can't
say that about WSU. WSU's defense against the run has fallen off lately. Falk is a great QB however he's
become the Coog's primary weapon without a whole host of others putting out like the Huskies have. They
hit you from many different directions unlike WSU with limited (if any) rushing numbers to back up Webb.
Gaskin, Pettis and Browning are a trio that WSU can't match up to even though Chad Hansen is a true
stud at TE. Colorado punched them in the mouth last week and it really took a toll on them late in the
game. I think this game could play out the same way.

So I'll just add this to the card.

...'scuse me I was thinking about the Stanford game above just a little.
Chad Hansen plays for the CAL Bears but he's definitely still a stud TE.

Amazing talent.

definitely on Ore st +3 and Asu -3, Ari has quit on RichRod.
Cal's cluster injuries in the defensive backfield scares me off Cal.

Think I'll throw the Sun Devils on there too KDdawgg. Agree that RR has done something to f**k Zona all up.
Something to do with QB Anu Soloman that got all his players in a big huff. Must have been pretty huge for
them to sink to the bottom of the Pac barrel and cover just once all year. Few things are better to fade than
an unpopular (or worse) head coach.

I forgot one...

Colorado -10/Utah
UDub -5½/WSU
ASU -3/AZ
OR St. +3½/Oregon
USC -17/Notre Dame
(easy pickens)
SDSU -11½/Colorado St.

Colorado St.'s rushing defense is ranked 101st in the country.
SDSU's RB Donnel Pumphrey is ranked the #2 running back just
8 yards out of 1st place with 1855 total rushing yards this season.
He's averaging 6½ yards per rush. He has five 200 yard+ games
this year with a 281 yard game high. If he gains 270 yards today,
he'll become the NCAA's all time leading rusher. What do you think?
Today is his last game as a senior playing at home.
