I'll combine information with my plays in this thread so I can find everything I'm doing easier. For now a couple of quick hitters for next week. I'm not sure what to say about line movement here because the sharps usually bet down the favs... which is to say I like 2 more chalk in W2. I'm sure I'll update.

*ASU -14/Stanford - Carpenter will pick the Cardinal secondary apart like a piece of KFC. (original recipe)

*Arizona -22/Akron - Tuitama and the Wildcat offense is playing like a buzzsaw. Nobody is going to slow them down, not for a while.

Lean: Oregon -34.5/Utah St. - Idaho is a better team than Utah St. Look at what another good offense did to Idaho last week. The Duck O rates no matter who is playing under center. There's no stopping this offense either.

* WSU+13.5/Cal just because WSU plays their conference games close and Cal could have themselves a letdown after beating MSU last week. I was even a little impressed with WSU's DL last week in a losing effort. I think Cal's offense is more ground oriented than OKSt. which plays into WSU's strength... what they may have of it. I'd like it better if I saw WSU with a little more depth to last 4 full quarters though.

I might pull this one if I see injuries pile up this week in Pullman.

Chalk chalk chalky, but it looks good. But a few things...

How is AZ St's run D? That big boy Gerhardt sure looks good. And did they stop playing once they went up 30-0?

Arizona plays Toledo not Akron...

Oregon O I know nothing about. Did they struggle in the first half of yesterdays game?

Sorry about all the chalk and the gaffe about Toledo. Sorry you MAC people. You have gutty teams out there but this team is in serious buzzsaw mode. They should find a way to keep it up.

That's just how it shakes out this time of the year. Chalk chalk chalk. (Maybe WSU I will keep as my one and only dog play... or maybe I'll add UW depending on the line vs BYU at home in Seattle.) Probably next week some dogs will jump out and take a bite of my attention. I figure.

I posted 5 chalks last week. So far 4 of them hit plus a mooch I took from GoSooners on Colorado-11 today. I'm also on UT-7 tomorrow. But this is all transitory. The dogs will be barking soon.

Zona's run D is young and untested but they will be inspired. The whole team is playing well and has also been practicing very well for a few weeks. I think Gerhardt was able to do what he did because he was kept extremely secret all during practices. I think he just plain caught Or.St's young D off guard. I think they'll stiffen up too.

OH MY.... I just saw Oregon St. is getting 17 in Happy Valley.

I had to hit it before everyone realized that this Beaver team traditionally plays hard vs big schools on the road.

My guess is that with some film and time, their defense vs the rush will bone up some. New PSU QB forced to throw (maybe.) The weakest part of PSU's team is their secondary. Even Paterno acknowledges that. Give Moevao time and he will throw for another 400 yards. 17 doesn't look so inviting if you like the Nittany Lions.

I just hope OR St's LB Pankey keeps his shoes on this time and doesn't make anymore of those overpursuing bonehead errors. That's about the only way I can see PSU covering this one. I realize that the Beavers need to run the ball some but the way Moevao ran that WC offense with the short passes wasn't a bad thing. Kind of uncharacteristic of this team to do that though. McCants and Quizz need to open up. Quizz had a sprained ankle that kept him out of most of the game LW. So we'll see.

Just FYI, that 17 I got on Or.St. was at Carib. It's still there as I type this for anyone else that's interested. It's at 16.5 now most other places

Conan...One thing I wanted to let you know about with the OSU offense is Gundy had a very conservative gameplan for that game. He did it on purpose to cut down on mistakes and not give WSU any turnovers where they could gain momentum. I suspect Cal will probably open it up a bit more than OSU did.

That's interesting the way you framed that GoSooners.

OK, so maybe the Coog defensive performance deserves to be tempered by Gundy's strategy. I didn't realize that was what was going on. Thanks for that. I am a little more worried about WSU's lack of depth. It's typical of teams with a shallow bench (especially on the lines) to weaken later in games. That's what has me the most concerned here.

I am torn between the idea of Cal's new skill position players having a lot ot prove and the team having a letdown after a big win vs Mich. St. Both of those issues cut right to the motivation factor.

PS.... Coach LT... YOU GO BOY! :pope:

Arizona winning by more than 22 on the road seems like a stretch, but they sure did kick the living shit out of Idaho. Maybe the Cats are finally the real deal.

Zona is still a mystery to me, but I'd lean toward chalk on that.

Speaking of Cal, chalk is clean and white here. WAZZU is just bad. I don't think they will win more than 2games this year.

Beavs opened at +13 at Betcris and now +17 most places. 17 and a hook gotta have some value, but I'm not feeling very confident about my Beavs right now. They do get their safety Al A. back and maybe Perry plays?

BYU Washington game is off the board. I'd be curious to see how big of a dog the Dawgs are if a line is posted.

If Hall is healthy, I make BYU a 6 point favorite.....UW will be much better this week and (dare I say) pull of the small upset...that is if Lapanno pulls his head out of his ass and lets Locker throw the ball on something other than 2nd or 3rd and long.

I'm just not sure you can judge the Oregon offense after watching one game against a team like Washington. There may be HS teams in the state that could compete or beat this team. They are flat awful.
