I'm just posting this list for starters. I expect to see these games lined within 24 hrs. or less. Some nice matchups involving Pac-10, WAC and MWC teams.

It's not as bad as I was afraid it would be because a lot of the 2nd tier bowl games are looking pretty good. Considering that 2 Pac-10 berths were taken by better teams, the WAC and MWC have filled in nicely and their opponents are well matched -- also revealing some interesting betting angles. I think I can find a bunch of winners in there when it's all said and done.

Oregon vs OK St.

What will this total be? lol

GL conan.

I think low 70's and I'd be tempted to bet it to go over Gyno. I'd give each of the teams' defenses a good solid looking over and compare offensive strengths to defensive weakness etc. to get it right. The Ducks' offense is a little off beat because when they run they tend not to eat much clock -- that's because they pull it off with big plays.

California vs Miami. Any idea of the line? Cali will likely be my biggest bowl play. After looking over the schedule quickly I like a lot of the Pac 10 teams to win or at least cover if they'll be big dogs. California, Oregon, USC, Oregon St..I think there's a good chance all win or cover. Arizona will have a tough game in BYU, but I can certainly see them winning also.

You had me thinking 'til you got to Arizona OTK. But then again we need some numbers to know anything for sure.

USC (definite play), cal, and oregon state look like possible plays. the oregon over might be tempting. arizona/byu will be a tough game, having played twice already in the past 3 years they know each other and both games were close. GL

Oklahoma State may be my biggest bet of the bowl season depending on the line. I can guarantee you that Oregon has not seen an offense like this one all season. Also, Okie Lite's defense is getting a bad rap because of what Oklahoma did to them in the last game. Oklahoma did the same thing to the last 5 teams they played. Oklahoma state's defense is a lot better than it has been in years and I think they will completely dominate this game on both sides of the ball.

GoSooners, I find it hard to play against Oregon after giving Chip Kelly weeks to prepare for a big game. The rushing game he's put together is a rare phenomenon in college football on this level. If there's been one criticism of Bellotti that has been true is that his bowl record sucks. However, I think that it finally got to everyone in Oregon last year when they met up with a similar decent defense in USF and pounded them mercilessly all day (Kelly had enough time to prepare his offense.) That broke the jinx. However I still think they are feeling the effects and most of the players on the team who were there last season are not finished with dispelling that losing streak. Okie might get some yards through the air but they will be contending with the 2nd best rushing defense (behind USC) in the Pac-10.

Funny how the 2nd place Pac-crap team plays about the 4th or 5th best Big 12 team and not only is an underdog but gets pounded virtually every yr (with the exception of Coach Frans pathetic A&M team that laid down against Cal)

I am thinking OSU -6.5.

I agree the B-12 should be better represented than sending their #3 or #4 team. But it's a bigger conference than the Pac-10 and their bowl commitments simply are what they are. That could change.

How long has the Holiday Bowl been in existence? I've never considered it to be a top 2nd tier bowl game but lately it has taken on more significance. Were it not for Oregon's lousy bowl record before last year, I think the Pac-10 would have had better success. I never liked Crowton that much and I've been down on DC Alliotti for years too. They were better (but not by much) when Tedford was their OC... and before that Peterson.

Judging from the way they played the last 2 games with (5th string QB) Masoli looking sharper than he ever has, I doubt they will lay down for Okie lite. Some people will say this goes both ways, but I don't see how OK St. will stop Oregon from moving the ball up and down the field at will. Furthermore, if the Ducks can shut down the run, they win. Simple as that. They are capable of putting some distance between themselves and OK St. anyway (to a point) but in this game a 2 score margin is unsafe, either way you look at it.

It should be a great game I would think the safer bet is the total even though it will probably be in the 70's.

Statistically these two teams look very similiar.

I could do with that. However if the Ducks get about a TD or better I will be very tempted.

Conan..I would be very surprised if OSU doesn't win this game big. I guarantee you Oregon hasn't seen anything close to OSU's 4 headed monster this year. They can kill you anywhere on the field. And I seriously doubt when Oregon's busy trying to stop OSU's running game (242 ypg) they'll find the going any easier against Dez Bryant and Brandon Pettigrew in the pass game (242 ypg passing). OSU has the most balanced offense in the country. They rushed for well over 200 yards on Texas. And the Horns have a much better defense than Oregon's. Remember, they put up 41 points on OU. And trailed just 37-33 with 10 minutes left in that game before OU got a couple late turnovers that won it for them. The 41 points was the second most points scored on the Sooners this year after texas. Missouri has a pretty damn good offense, and they were only able to score 21 on OU the next week. OSU is the real deal. Gundy has had some outstanding recruiting classes in the last couple of years. And have several players on offense that will be playing on Sunday.
