You must have some very low standards when it comes to chili. I for one could go without that concoction of old hamburger patty's that they throw in that shit.

If you are lazy then buy Stagg Chili. I like their Dynamite Hot and Green Chili Laredo flavors. If however you have the time find a good chili recipe online and perfect it to your tasting.

I for one make a mean pot of chili and spaghetti meat sauce.

http://www.cooksrecipes.com/soup/easy_chili_recipe.html

Basic recipe here which I started off with, and have since made a few changes - mainly chopping a couple of green chillis up and throwing them in with the beef and the onions at the start.

Also, instead of 2 tablespoons chili powder, I have been using 1 tablespoon Chili Powder and 1 tablespoon Cayenne Pepper.

Do they still make it with thumb meat?
i remember when i was in vegas a few years ago i read in the paper a local woman traveled to san jose and put a digit in the chili claiming it was already there. investigators later determined the woman put it there herself.

It's genious on Wendy's part. Most everyone else just throws out their old meat. Wendys manages to profit off it by adding some spices and beans and slow cooking it the next day.

it's all right for the price i guess, i have had it before, but it ain't that great. And another chili that is overrated IMO is the Skyline Chili.

at least they should grind the old hamburgers up to try and fool you that it is new meat not just leftover burgers, that is just lazy

Wouldnt that require more processing?

I worked there for a little bit when I was a teenager.

Since burgers are always being grilled, not all get served. Anything burnt or unservable as a burger goes in the 'chili meat pan'. Once the 'chili meat pan' is full it goes into the walk in (where it cools) and you can see all the white grease and burnt meat in all its glory the next day when it's time to prep the chili (I'm not kidding). There might be a few full 'chili meat pans' a day. (about 2-3 where I worked.)

The next morning, someone who is part of the opening shift takes the chili meat and does whatever with it I believe they used two spatulas facing each other to chop it up and then toss it in some industrial sized crock pot with the beans and spices.

I guess it's not bad, it's just....nothing to write home about.
