We'l back from Vietnam, been crawling in the bush for a few weeks, sort of. Wild country and a lot of fun to visit. Extremely cheap, Vibrant, young, great food, wild scooters drivers and they hate/scared of the Chinese. Vietnam It ain't your granddads communism. Saigon is more capitalist then anywhere in the USA, go figure. The currency is the Dong and it takes 100,000 to get a massage, that's like $4 dollars.

VT vs Duke. Well, on the surface Duke +2.5 seems like a gift from the NCAA gods, easy money, pretty obvious bet most would say. Be careful. Cutcliff is a conventional guy that Bud Foster usually can coach well against. The QB drops back in the pocket and throws the ball. Yes, Bud doesn't have the front 7 he is used to, but we are now 4 games into the season and he has a pretty good handle on what his boys are capable of. He will scheme to limit their weaknesses and leave fewer guys exposed. I do expect a lot of points in this game, Cutcliff is a master and has the better QB and offense. He will pressure VT, into having to keep up, by scoring TD's. With a weak Mike and a poor DL Duke will find opportunities, the game is at night in Blacksburg. That used to mean something, I'd expect it may mean a little tonight. VT should play better.

Fuente can't afford a loss here, after the dismal start to the season if he gets pounded here, the season is lost, VT will have 2 ACC losses with Miami on the road next week. I'd tease the over down 7 to 45. Then tease Duke to +9.5, make VT earn it. I'd sprinkle a little Dong on Duke and the ML, VT has a lot more pressure in this game then Duke does, Cutcliff can open this up if VT can't match Duke scoring.

There are better games to play this weekend. I would be careful with this one. Neither team is very good. Duke will score in this game, the question will be, can VT keep up, and can Foster get his Mike and DL off the field in a close game. Assuming VT can score TD's, to keep it close in the 4th. This is a huge game for Fuente, VT will give it 100%, next week in Miami will be a disaster for the Hokies.

Tease the over down and make VT prove they can score more then 35 vs a middle of the pack ACC brother.

Yes, I hit a barber shop in Saigon almost everyday. Wet Shave, nails, massage, facial, and a serious ear cleaning all for like $20 dollars. The mini skirt and push up bra were a bonus. High rise condo's popping up all over Ho Chi Min. US citizens can buy now, pretty cheap, but I don't see the potential that Shanghi was 13 years ago. Still a lot of poverty, no subway, and can't drink the water. I tucked away a few hundred thousand Dong just in case parity with the US dollar ever happens. right now it's 23,000 to 1, :) :).

Mobile QB's have given Foster nightmares for 30 years now. Duke has a mobile QB and Cutcliff wants to run the ball, that will allow Foster to play the safeties up, he also has a safety playing corner, Advantage VT. I can tell you, from sitting in 5 years of game prep w/Foster he is going to sell out to force Duke to throw the ball tonight. If the 5th year Sr QB can make the throws at night in Blacksburg, Duke will run away with this game. If Duke's QB can't make the throws, they will have to rely on the QB legs which will find success because VT's front 7 is a step too slow with ZERO NFL talent. In past years with defenses loaded with NFL talent, Foster still struggled against mobile QB's. VT has no pass rush and with a mobile QB, Foster will play a lot of zone w/ the safeties tight in run support. He will have to pray Cutcliff's QB can't make the throws. Betting a Cutcliff 5th year senior QB not being able to throw the ball is a long shot. However, it's a night game in Blacksburg and the QB spent 4 years on the bench behind Doug Jones. Tonight won't be like playing against a D3 school like Duke has feasted on in the past few games.

If Dukes QB can't make the throws, this will be a tight low scoring game, unless he can run like M Vick. That is VT's only chance in my opinion. Tech will not win a shootout, Willis will find a way to throw a pick or fumble the ball.
