Florida has won and covered 15 of their last 16 games. The only loss ATS was last year to Mississippi - which they lost outright.

I don't know that much about UCLA, but can you tell me just a couple of the players/positions you have in mind? The "better coached" comment is a bit mind boggling.

With that said, I hope you're right about UCLA, it would be nice to see some of the PAC 10 try to catch up with USC.

As for the line, I believe the thinking is that FL coasted to a very easy 24-point win in Knoxville last year, Tennessee hasn't gotten any better (or only slightly better), and this year the game is in FL. I could see Tennessee forcing some turnovers, and playing keep away to try to keep the game closer than it oughta be, but Tennessee has really suffered in recruiting lately. Combine that with Urban Meyer's vindictive nature and past success in rivalry games, and 29 points really isn't out of the question. Folks thought the game last year should have been a lot worse than it was.

Spread Beater - take a look at 2006 and 2008 especially. Tennessee had a nice class in 2007, but not as nice as FL's. With that said, I'm referring to pre-Kiffin recruiting, I fully expect Tennessee to get things turned around, I just think it will take a couple of years (it probably wouldn't hurt to time it in conjunction with a fall for Georgia and South Carolina).

When these two teams were both at high levels in the 90's, they were neck and neck in recruiting, that's not the case now. FL needs to enjoy their time at the top in the SEC, because it won't last forever, but it will take other teams cutting into their successful recruiting for that to happen.

Because between the time the books made the lines 10 and 29, UCLA played Tenn and beat em on the road. The 10 pt line was made before that game, and the 29 pt line is partly a reaction to that game.

1) Tennessee was at home vs UCLA, they are on the road vs Florida. That is a 10 pt swing in the line right there.

2) If Tennessee played UCLA again they would not be 10 pt favorites. They only opened as 7 pt favs and they would not even open that high if the game were played again. They were overrated because they beat WKU badly, but WKU has nobody with talent.

My guess from the lines would be that Florida would be -21 or so vs UCLA on a neutral. Maybe -24. They would not be -39. Whether 21-24 is still too much, i don't know.

As for the play, i'm not sure about it. Crompton is not someone I'd trust a ton to make good decisions vs a talented defense. The defense will likely have to keep them in this one, as I don't see a lot to love about their offense.

They lost by 4 as a 10 favorite. Using your logic that would make Florida 24 points betther than UCLA
