week 2 nfl picks

i'll start the week by taking broncos +3.5 (heritage)

1. when i woke up and saw the hook i had to take it. broncos d looked great last sunday. the chiefs offense is predicated on short passes and runs for jamaal charles. i dont think the broncos will have a tough time containing that.

2. manning had a tough game, but they still scored 4 fg on offense. next game they can get 2 of those fg drives changed to td and that should be enough to cover the spread if not win outright

3. kc seemingly dominated houston, but the final score and statistics tell a different story. two of their tds were handed to them by hoyer. i don't think denver will hand anything to kc. they will have to earn the points.

Texans +3
1. i'm not impressed with carolina, never have been, and now even less that they have no offensive weapons for cam to work with (olsen i guess could be considered a weapon). luke keuchly knocked himself silly last week. i don't think he will be playing
2. texans gave the chiefs 2 tds last week and still made the final score look respectable.
3. i think obrien is a good coach and will have them bounce back this week.
4. alot being made of the qb change this early in the season for the texans. i think it doesnt really matter who is qb, as long as they don't score points for the other team the texans will be in most games.

redskins +3
1. rams just won their superbowl and in dramatic fashion when they beat the seahawks last week. they are the youngest team in the league so i'm sure they don't know how to handle that huge victory for them and they have probably already pencilled in a victory over the redskins after seeing how they got manhandled by the dolphins.
2. redskin defense played pretty good last week. they only allowed 10 points (dolphins had a punt return too)
3. the biggest reason i'm playing this is because everyone and their mom is on the rams, yet the line went from 3.5 to 3. books got toasted last week and i think they get some back with this teaser and parlay buster of a game

1. revenge from playoffs last year,
2. packers at home in primetime
3. depleted seahawk defense
4. dramatic emotional loss for seahawks last week
5. banged up seahawks. wagner will play but ankle issue, earl thomas and sherman are not 100%

tb +10
1. this is a divisional game. this is way too many points to lay for a team (saints) that i think is going 6-10. even against the hapless bucs.
2. last year these teams played twice and saints won in OT at home 37-31 and the game in TB was 23-20. dont think the bucs are any worse this year than last. that would be pretty hard to accomplish. the saints are arguably worse though.
3. last year the bucs got blown out by atl 56-14. the next week they came back and beat pitt at pitt. looking for the same type of result here.
