For me it has to be Tennessee. Even though they didn't play that great of a team, I think Marcus Mariota is a legit NFL quarterback. I was also impressed with the Rams.

Even though I think the team they beat has potential to be 1 of the worst teams in the NFL, it is the Chiefs.

Any offense with Smith at QB is always going to have limitations but if Kelce stays healthy then he is a rising star at TE, Maclin is the best WR the Chiefs have had in awhile and Charles/Davis in the backfield with a good OL. Their defense was 1 of the best in the league last year and now they get Eric Berry back.

They were +1.5 vs Den week 2 on the advance line, now they're close to -3.5 on Thursday night. What a difference a week makes.

Also SD impressed me. Got down 21-10 and just shrugged it off to dominate the Lions the rest of the game.

Not like the Lions are chopped liver.

I'll give a team that lost that impressed me. The Eagles with Bradford looked good. Slow start but strong 2nd half. He always had a cannon arm, just never had any weapons in STL.

With Chip and that Eagles offense I think he can have a big year. He is much better than Foles IMO.

San Diego. They had the most impressive win, against decently quality competition, coming from way behind, and shutting Detroit down after a rough start.

I think this is a classic week 1 over reaction. Houston gave KC the ball on their own 13 and 9 I believe from turnovers. They committed too many penalties and made mistakes on special teams.

The 2nd half Houston shut out KC. Houston had more first downs, more total yards, more rushing yards, more passing yards, and held KC to under 100 yards rushing.

You can't give your opponent turnovers inside the 15 yard line twice and give up TD's. Hoyer looked like crap, and I fully expect Mallett to start Sunday.

Yeah I'm not giving them too much credit for being stout and forcing turnovers vs Hoyer, but a lot of the yards they gaveup came after they were up 27-9. That happens all the time in the NFL now, I wouldn't put too much stock into Houston moving the ball then.

KC was a solid team last year that really couldn't pass and they could be a lot better at that. Alex Smith is limited but I would say this is the most talent he has had around him in his career.

Texans defense is good obviously so I didn't really expect KC to move the ball at will but they definitely have more weapons than they have in the past. When I said I could see Houston being 1 of the worst I just meant if their offense falls completely flat like it did Sunday. They have a very low floor because of their offense. I think Mallett will probably start Sunday too.

I agree, if Mallett can't help then I don't know what they do. They have solid receivers, and Foster will be back sooner than expected I believe, but you can't win in this league without solid QB play.

Can't say I watched the 4 o clock games due to depression, anger, and flat out hostility but the Bills looked like they could do something. Who holds Luck to 0 first half points? Hard to tell in 1st game though. I remember Manning barely beating the Browns in a week 1 game. It was like 10-7.

@TexanFan

Yeah I never put too much stock into a QB coming off the bench down 18 and leading a few drives. Gotta keep in mind that isn't who KC prepared for all week and it doesn't get any easier at moving the ball then when the other team is up 3 scores.

I understand why they didn't go with Mallett last year because they wanted to try and make the playoffs and Fitz was more of a solid vet, but was surprised he couldn't make it more of a competition vs Hoyer. Out of Arkansas a lot of people said he had 1st rd talent but just went in the 3rd because of character concerns.

Foster back would help any QB they put out there but it seems like 1 minute a report is saying he is gonna be back week 3 then the next maybe not until November, etc.

You really think a team with a QB named TYROD TAYLOR could "do something"

What is the world coming to?

Damn man, you must be deflated from that loss.

Mallett just seems to come into the game and starts operating the offense like he's been there all along. He takes control, makes the calls, and gets shit done. it was supposedly a coin flip between Hoyer and Mallett. You could tell how quickly Hoyer got pulled that he wasn't entrenched as the starter.

Based on preseason predictions, I was most impressed with San Francisco. They looked very good against Minnesota.

Vlad questioning everything he ever knew.

By week 5 he is gonna be saying "Guys I have seen the future and it involves flying cars and Marcus Mariotta superbowl MVPs"

I think the 49ers are way better than the dumpster fire people thought they were gonna be. Not ready to say they're a good team yet, though. I'd still call them the bottom team in their division, but closer to a .500 team than a 5 win team.

It's so difficult to predict how good any team will be now a days in the NFL. I agree that 49ers aren't a real good team, but they did play surprisingly well last night. They certainly impressed me with their win.
