Another season here at the RX, trying to make some money. Winning consistently at college football is not easy, and there are never any "sure" bets, but I'll at least give my side to why I took a play. Fade or follow as you please. Disagree, but please don't bring in personal animosities with other posters into this thread. Will play units from 1*- 10*. I'll try to post vig that is not -105 or -110. Good luck to all.
3* Oregon State +4 Two seasons ago the Beavers were as bad as a team can get. Coach Gary Andersen knew he was rebuilding, but was shocked at just how bare the cupboard was in Corvalis. One of the reasons I like this game is that GA and the Beavs really competed last year. They won 3 PAC 12 games, and played the entire 60 minutes vs. the better teams. They covered in all but a few games last year despite their record. And this season they finally have a legit QB. The past two seasons saw some really ugly QB play, and the QB turnovers and atrocious passing caused their offense to lose games they could have won. Jake Luton, who was one of the best JC QBs in the country, easily rose above the rest of the QBs in camp, and gives the Beavs a chance on 3rd down.
Both OSU and CSU have young OLs, and I don't like going against an experienced QB like Nick Stevens. But CSU only had one signature win last year, against SD State. Their defense was a sieve at times as seen in their 61 points they gave up to freaking Idaho in their bowl game. Oregon State has a very strong unit of RBs, and I think their inexperienced OL will thrive more running the ball on the Rams D rather than pass blocking too much. I can see a game where OSU keeps the ball for long drives running the ball, and thus giving CSU fewer chances on offense. OSU also has a tough front 7 on defense that'll make CSU work hard for points.
Also, I think all the hoopla about CSU's new stadium could be more of a distraction than an advantage. The Beavs come in just thinking football. Coach Andersen had them ready every game last year, even though they were often overmatched, and they'll be at least ready here.
