many teams play the cupcake week 1 with a big game on tap. these teams will never open the playbook up much to beware of laying big wood, or overs, with teams that have big week 2 games and easy week 1 opponents:

Clemson/Auburn
Pitt/PennSt
USC/Stanford
OhioSt/Oklahoma
UGA/NDU
Wazzou/Boise

eyeing the Rice vs Stanford u52 (took it tiny so far) and Youngstown +15.5 (hate betting against Pitt when I'm at the game) ... State Penn probably in the biggest revenge situation in the nation but Akron's defense is so bad that it could be 42-0 at HT before the very vanilla 2nd strong offense comes in 2H.

Thanks for the list. Might take their opponents and the points if they have a pulse.

I capped the Youngstown / Pitt game a while back and am leaning hard towards Youngstown ST......They are a top 5 FCS team IMO (not sure if the poll came out yet) They return their star QB Hunter Wells and I believe 4 OL.........They lose a few key guys on "D" but they should be better on offense with the added EXP and depth.............I did not consider the on-deck angle before......I am going to wait to see what this line does.....Tough to predict if this one drops down towards 14 or creeps up to 17.......

I've been posting Pitt updated i the injuries/suspensions thread and we're in fucking tatters. Really good shot at 6-8 freshman getting a lot of playing time (at least 3 starters) and none of those are our top recruit, Paris Ford, who missed two weeks of practice already. Supposedly Browne is making huge strides but still a new system for him and the rest of Pitt offense. average Oline, nobody taking control at RB, but really a pretty badass WR and TE group. Defensively will be as bad, or worse, than last year at least until game #4. Very few returning starters and right now almost all best players to start 2017 will be newcomers via grad transfer, juco, and straight transfers that sat out last year

Not going to be easy to get a good feel of them until we them them play.....D-Line looks intriguing though with the Penn ST / Tenn tranfers
- NT K Camp turned down offers from FL, MI ,LOU OHST ...........Rori Blair 8.5 sacks in 10 starts could break out

Gotta think Browne plays well with Weah and TE Clark to throw the ball to.....Clark was 4 star recruit.

This season is up in the air right now but they have way too much talent not to contend in the ATL Coastal

Really? To where? Wasn't it down to wvu and Pitt? If he doesn't head to the draft, that would be great to pick him up.

That's the word, but no idea where he would go. Not sure there would be enough film, but if he comes back and lights it up could go pro.

WVU does look to be in good shape for Kwantel Raines.

wouldn't make any sense to transfer and delay his NFL. He's rated as a late 1st / early 2nd round pick next year so why would he play this year, then sit a full season (assuming he doesn't graduate in 3 years ), to play one more year?

depending on if Minkah goes as a safety or cornerback Whitehead is projected top 4 safety in the draft. a good year in '17 can put him in top half of the first round but even a poor year will keep him in top 60 picks

Raines and Asamoah are top 2 guys left on Pitt's board. will be a tough fight for WVU with both of them. Pitt only has 4 spots left but will keep them open for those two guys

I would never count Pitt out of it for a WVPIAL kid

well Asamoah is from Ohio so not WPIAL and other than Dravon Henry I can't recall any WVU pulls from that Beaver/monaca/CV/Aliquippa/Hopewell area that produced Shell, Revis, Baldwin, Ditka, Gilbert, Whitehead, Pugh, Dorsett, etc ... then again your sources have Whitehead giving up a top 50 NFL selection to sit a year for his dream of being a hoopie in 2019 season so what do i know? ;)

(aka get new sources)
