ok - like a lot of people here i'm in one. so this thread will be the weekly place we can discuss out involvement in 1.

this week i am taking:

Miami

looking at the sked - the only other week i could trust them is week 12 when they host th skins - and there are other teams i can take that week.

for me - i am taking the dolphins this week so i never have to deal with these choking dogs the rest of the season!

I went together with 3 other guys in one pool and we are thinking about taking Miami with all 4 of our teams. I sure everyone will be on them so if they lose everybody will probably be out.

There just isn't one other team I feel comfortable taking this week.

sammy - you are right (for the record - i was NOT on dallass in that game) but it was the texans first-ever game and they were playing the cowgirls - so that has to be mentioned. also - a HUGE factor is that game was in houston where the fired up crowd helped the home team - while this game is in miami.

I agree with you here Tree, Miami wants to make a statement first game at home this season, and they will blow the texans out. It's kind of a shame when you think about it, because David Carr will be expecting things in his second year to be much better, but what a rude awakening he will get this first game at Miami!

Agreed windyduck, being in Miami should surely give the phins a win even if they have a bad day.

With Houston's bad O-Line, Jason Taylor should be all over Carr.

Miami is the obvious, and probably the best play. With that being said, I have a gut feeling that both the Browns and Cowboys win their openers this week. Have not looked at the schedule enough, so I will have to wait till further review. Have to look at Miami's schedule to see if I agree with Winky.

Best of luck.

Ended up taking San Fran on 2 and Miami on 2.

No way the Bears win at San Francisco.

assuming you get that far - and the thing lasts that long:

SF hosts AZ in week 14 is a much better play

may i suggest everyone map out the rest of the season before they make 1 pick - it will really help you out - see where there are weeks you will NEED a certain team - one you might also want in another week - but can find a better option for.

OK, dont everyone laugh at once, but I am taking the LIONS, yes the LIONS in week one! I expect the LIONS to come out strong in Mooch's home opener, Harrington now has a few playmakers, along with a running back that can actually run (Gary) plus playing Arizona, hell it might be the only time the Lions are over 500 for a few more years. Ford Field will be rocking, so with all this said, I will take my chances! Wish me luck........and good luck to everyone else!!!!!

BUFFROCK - Be careful, I was reading about this game and AZ has won the last 5. Both AZ's and Det's run defenses were horrible last year. Yes, Gary may be a good back but I can't help but wonder if it was because of the good Denver O-Line or because Gary is really good.

AZ on the other hand, judging from pre-season is going to run a bunch. I'm not sure if Detroit will stop them.

One advantage for Detroit though is that they actually have some playmakers, unlike AZ.

Detroit may win, and I hope they do but I would much rather take a team like Miami at home against a very weak opponent like Houston, instead of what good be a toss up game.

windyduck - we might be able to use Green Bay against Chicago or Philly against Dallas in week 14 also.

We'll see!

Good call Jesus - Only you could make a call like that.

Did the big man upstairs tip you off?

Or did you just use some of your own devine intervention?

I thought of this thread when Kris Brown was lining up for his game-winner. SportsCenter even mentioned the suicide pool inpact of that game.
As they say, "On any given Sunday..."
