Atlanta Thrashers -140 (full unit)

Atlanta -1.5 +210 (half unit)

Montreal comes off a tough emotional loss to division rival Ottawa. Travels overnight to play against a team that is equally fast and twice as potent on offense. Atlanta is rested, (three days), and savoring a two game sweep of Washington. They didn’t just beat the Caps, they crushed them by a combined score of 15-4, out shooting them 81-42.

Atlanta gets superstar Ilya Kovalchuk back into the fold for this one and that can’t be good news to Jose Theodore who has looked less than his usual stellar self for the last three games. Giving up 11 goals to the Rangers, Leafs, and Senators one has to wonder how much of that is due to the new rules and how much is attributed to Theodore just not being up to par. Considering only three of those eleven goals were while the Habs were short handed I can surmise Jose’s bio rhythms aren’t at their usual standards.

VegasVic,

Just wondering how you have done in the past capping the NHL? Thanks and hope that you have a very profitable season.

Should read...They travel overnight to play....

Yes Atlanta is a better offense. I gotta keep these write-ups simple. Maybe two syllable words would help me along?

However they are very close in my opinion. The difference is Ottawa has a defense.

Theodore was crap.

I was at the game sitting 2nd row in the corner on Theo's side for the 1st and 3rd periods.

He lucked on a few saves in the first because of good positioning, the puck just hit him.

There was quite a bit of obstruction towards the goalie, but he was definatly week on Alfredson's goal which killed Montreals rhythm.

Theo might not be in nets tomorrow, so ill keep you guys posted. Nothing concrete yet though.. just post game radio rumblings.

At first glance I would say NO. Montreal is 10-5-1 last 16 b-b. Theodore is 10-4 su vs Atlanta and 4-1 at Atlanta. Granted, this is a better Atlanta but so far Atlanta has definitely shown superiority to Capitals. I will look at this more but the term Live Dog seems to crop up here.

I disagree Savant

not a good game to play. Theo should bounce back or they'll start Yann Danis...who's the next P Roy. (i hope)

All in all, better to watch this one.
