Wednesday Hockey Picks - Overnight Play w/ ONE huge DOG!

Carolina Hurricanes ML +185 * 2 UNITS *
Why would I back up a team that have lost 7 straight games? Well, the answer is that this Hurricanes team has a GOOD shot at winning this game and at +185 on the moneyline is just foolish to pass up. This 'Canes team is practically the same team that went to the Eastern Conference last year. The Hurricanes are 1-8-1 in their last 10 games. And in their 7 striaght consecutive losses they have only scored 10 goals while allowing 26 goals...Ouch! Thats an average of 3.7 Goals Per Game in their 7 dreadful losses! The injury to Rod Brind'Amour (which occured in the St Louis Game) will be severely missed. The Washington Capitals have been struggling as of late after winning 3 straight in the opening week of Janaury, they have stumbled in their last 4 games going 0-3-1. The Capitals are 4-0-2 in their last 6 meetings versus teh 'Canes. It seems everything is against the Canes...the stats and trends both favour the Washington Capitals. However, the Canes' in my opinion still have a legit shot at winning this game with players like Francis, O'Neil, Kappinen, Hlavac..etc.. Sure the Capitals may have snipers like Bondra, Jagr and Gonchar, but I expect the Hurricanes to play a SOLID Road game and possibly (definitely) Win this outright! I'm probably the only one here going with the Canes (who have burned me twice when I had them against the Devils, but not this time!!!)

GOING WITH MY GUT INSTINCT ON THE HURRICANES!

Projected Score: Hurricanes 3 - Capitals 1
