From a Bill Simmons article on espn.com. Like most of what he writes, I couldn't have said it any better myself. BRING IT.

"Hey, maybe they have a better team ... but we have Big Papi, Wakefield and a weekend's worth of "MVP!" chants up our sleeves. After 11 months of celebrating the first Red Sox championship in 86 years, it's time to finally defend it. "

A Sox win or an Indian Loss and Sox are in. Worse case they'd have to play Indians Monday for a playoff game.

Actually, I think playing the White Sox is a better match up for the Red Sox. And Angles have given the Yanks fits and that's who the Yanks would have.

Pretty much this weekend is just a taste, and because of the Indians collapse not as meaningful as it first appeared.

Looks like we might have another 7 games of Sox Yanks in the ALCS

As usual Sheffield had the big hit to put Yanks up 3-0 Nothing. Yanks then got two more runs in the 2nd (A-Rod not involved) to make it 5-2.

Then A-Rod went off an got a Double HR and Single.

Typical.

Leave it to this clown to completely skew reality.

A-Rod went 4 for 5, with his 130th RBI, a HR a double and 2 runs scored.
Are you seriously trying to say that all 4 of his hits were at meaningless times?

C'mmon, even I know that you can't possibly be that dumb. Well, then again ... you blindly and passionately defend dumbass without reason, so who knows .. :finger:

No not all his hits. A-Rod did hit a first inning dribbler up the Middle, that hit mattered as he scored on Sheff's bomb.

With Randy Johnson on the Hill with a 5-2 lead, A-Rod didn't have even close to a big hit after that. So 3 meaningless hits is more accurate.

Like I said typical.

I thought you said you didn't see it?

Sox lost the division last year to the Yanks too. That gives ARod two AL East Championship rings. Way to go big guy.

This coming from a guy rooting for the red sox? Red sox definitely have a long history of winning that the yankees should learn from!:hump:

Arods Updated stats:

194 Meaningless hits
48 Meaningless HRs
130 Meaningless RBIs
21 Meaningless SBs
and a probable meaningless Gold Glove.

I dont know why the yankees dont play mark bellhorn at 3B more often. Bellhorn did win a world series last year.

ARod is not a winner...Period. Every team he has left has improved immediately upon his departure. There is more to being great than putting up great numbers. I hate NY, but respect Jeter b/c he's won something. ARod hasn't won anything. (and won't anytime soon)

I thought you were talking about Today? That's an A-Rod Season. Not even his best. And you could have added:

ZERO "meaningless" rings.

ARod will go down as the greatest player ever to not win a World Series. And I will be at his induction in Cooperstown reminding him of that fact with a megaphone and a Big Papi jersey.
