Looking like rain could be a factor again today..hope thats not the case. Already locked these in:
Match-Ups
2.00 units Kevin Harvick (-105) over Robby Gordon (@thegreek)
Maybe Harvick and RCR is finally coming around, been more competitive lately and now they're at a place where Harvick should excel (5 Top 6 finishes in 8 starts w/a win in 2006)
Robby is a good road racer but bad luck, bad decision making and questionable equipment all adds up as a go-against pick for me
1.50 units Martin Truex (-125) over Matt Kenseth (@sportsbook)
Speaking of bad luck Truex is a perfect example but giving him a shot here. Decent on the road courses(5th and 6th last 2 here) and Top 10 in both practice sessions yesterday.
Kenseth has never really like these places and was awful in qualifying and mid-pack in all practices and average speeds.
1.50 units Patrick Carpentier (+100) over Sam Hornish (@5dimes)
Like Carpentier on this type track when he has good equipment and MWR provides that this weekend, they hooked up for an 11th place finish at Infineon in June.
Hornish is a lot like Robby Gordon, you never know what you may get, a Top 10 or a crash and burn.
1.50 units Kasey Kahne (-115) over Robby Gordon (@thegreek)
Even though Kasey pulled one out at Infineon really don't think he does it here but a Top 10 is not out of the question and you know R.Gordon will screw up somewhere
1.50 unit Mark Martin (+105) over Ron Fellows (@thegreek)
If Mark would have shown any speed at all in practice would have played this for more...Fellows is a good driver but have no faith in that ride, gotta take Hendrick at plus money vs. Phoenix Racing
1.50 units Elliott Sadler (+150) over Brian Vickers (@5dimes)
Can't overlook Sadler on a road course, has not finished worse than 19th in 12 races and has 5 Top 10's. Vickers is having a pretty good year but on roadies his stats are not great(21.3 avg in 10 starts with 1 Top 10). This one may be tight but will give it a shot at this price
Props
0.50 unit Kevin Harvick (+325) to win group (@thegreek)
over R.Gordon/Kahne/Said/McMurray
Outrights
1.50 units Marcos Ambrose (+400) @SIA
One of my Top 3, maybe the class of the field, but something in my gut says he won't win it...but got to give it a go
1.25 units Tony Stewart (+550) @thegreek
Can't argue with his results here, 2 wins and 2 runner-ups the last 4 races
0.75 unit Juan Pablo Montoya (+950) @5dimes
With all the talk about Ambrose not hearing a lot about JPM but if he can find the speed...watch out...I think he is the best out there on this type track
0.50 unit Denny Hamlin (+1200) @sportsbook
Very underrated on road courses and after last week the elephant is off his back
0.25 unit Kevin Harvick (+3300) @SIA
0.25 unit Carl Edwards (+2800) @SIA
Two legitimate longshots both should be Top 10 or better
Lots of outrights and did a lot of shopping but hope I got it covered
Good luck to everyone!
