Pretty entertaining watching him go heads up against some jarleAA 300/600 limits. JarleAA took him for $30000 in a matter of hours...Needless to say Phil wasn't very happy with this and called in a night

JarleAA is the screen name of a Norwegian who has played in the WSOP in prior years. He's also one of the best heads-up players anywhere. At $30 thousand, PH probably got off easy. He is someone who probably is affected badly by the inability to see your opponent online. Sometimes his ego gets in the way of his talent.

Of course, if I had his talent I'd probably have his ego, too.

Fish,

Athlete? And favorite athlete at that? How did you feel about Danny Ainge in his playing days? I put them in the same category as whiners but to call Phil an athlete means you didn't see that WSOP show when he has his shirt off. A great tournament poker player for sure but not an athlete by any standard of evaluation.

Fish' post reminds me of a story told by one of my Fav Phils John Kruk, where upon telling of being at a suit-and-tie gala affair, a lady notices him pigging out and drinking, she makes an honest assessment of his Ruthian physique that he overhears, leaving Kruk to retort, "Lady, I'm not an athlete..I'm a ballplayer!"

Phil Helumuth is a poor live game player. I've played with him online and live. It amazes me how people think he plays so great.

Great LIVE TOURNAMENT player...........which is a different chipgame than live and/or online games, as you know as well as anyone.

JarleAA has taken about 300k off the tables in the last 3 days at UB. He destroyed Thomas Keller and his brother also. One guy dropped over 100k to him. Unfrickinreal

In my opinion limit hold 'em as three different games:

Ring game: 7 to 10 players
Short-handed: 3 to 6 players
Heads up: 2 players

The three games are very different. My favorite is short-handed. Ring game is number 2. I don't feel comfortable with heads up. Very different game and I haven't figured it out yet.

Nope. If you have a UB account go watch some night. The game runs at about 170 hands per hour. There are normally about 100 people watching.

Anyone know how things ended up last night? I couldn't watch it for any more than 30 minutes or so.
