When I see a game that is this lopsided it makes me wonder if someone missed soemthing. It happens in baseball, and other sports but not as much as in foots.

I mean, I'm not the brightest tool in the shed, but if you looked at both teams, clearly Cincinnati was the better team here but were still dogs by 5pts.

Same scenario with Pitt Thursday night. Compare the two teams and they are close to even. Though Tenn is getting 3 extra points over the already 3 of home field. Surely this line can't keep going up.

Ben will have his hands full all night running his ass off from being protected by a mediocre O-line. Folks like to say he can scramble we will see Thursday night. Bring your running shoes Ben, you'll need'em

Cincy were dogs because that's what happens in the first couple of weeks. People bet favorites just because they are favorites. So the linesmakers knew they could throw a bullshit line out there at Rutgers -5 and people would take the bait. For you to say these teams are close to even is laughable to me. Rutgers has no Qb experience, no offensive weapons, a terrible running back situation, and their defense looked absolutely terrible. The only thing Rutgers does have is an o-line with experience. Cincy has a QB who led them to a BCS Bowl, the best WR in the Big East, an okay running back, a QB who can come in and run the wildcat (rushed for 2 tds yesterday), and a top 5 coach IMO in all of college football. If Rutgers was "right side" I would love to be on the wrong side for the rest of the season.

Where did I say Rutgers and Cincy was close?

I said the exact same things yesterday in a small write up, but of course, it was moved.

Things that make people money get moved, but "where do you buy your underwear" type threads stay...

I thought with that line you were trying to say that Cincy and Rutgers were close to even. Sorry if I misinterpreted. I guess you are just trying to say that the line is shady.

I was a little worried about Rutgers O Line causing Cincy problems (and with Cincy having 10 new players on defense) but not enough to not grab Cincy on the ML for +180!

That said, it was my only win of the weekend going 1-4 so I can't say I know that much.

Home openers are tough though, crowd is usually pretty jacked up. I thought the line would be closer to a pickem. Cincy looked damn good

Get over the thread getting moved issue. We have sport forums for the type of thread that you posted that are viewed by 5 times as many posters that will see it here in this forum..

Threads such as Bearcats vs. Rutgers belong in the College Football Forum. If every thread about a single college football game was allowed to be posted here in The Offshore Forum there would be no Offshore Forum.

Here is the active thread count for Monday September 7th. An active thread is any thread that had at least one post in it for the date listed at the top.

As you can see there were 184 other threads in the college forum besides yours but you are the only poster still complaining about it.

thread count for 9-07-2009

Enough already - congratulations you picked a winner. I will see if I can find some other posters to pat you on the back so you will feel better if that will help.

Wilheim I have no say around here nor do I want any. All though I do spend a good amount of time reading more threads then I actually post in. But if I may ask why are some people allowed to post their "Pick of the day" threads in the offshore and others arent? Not that I ever attempted to nor would I. But its not like bigbet is a new poster. He does have over 9000 posts. So is there some kind of post count you need for your betting thread to stay in offshore? I personally think any play threads in the offshore should be moved or deleted no matter who the poster is.

Wil:

That is what I am saying. I'm not saying every single NCAAF game, but there was only 2 games yesterday.

I guess I could have worded it different, maybe "In-Game" thread....do those get moved?

I'm just a little confused on whats moved and what stays. It seems to change daily.

I thought it was legit for being a slow day in sports is all.

Thing is, it wasn't a pick of the day.

And no Wil, I don't need a pat on the back.

Rarley do I post plays in the main forum, or any play for that matter.

I thought it would be good discussion is all.

That is a fair question. We do allow a few very veteran posters (there was a thread about this subject recently) to post an occasional pick here but Bigbet is far from being one of them.

Here is a copy of his thread which is no different than the hundreds of other threads that were posted in the CFB Forum yesterday.

Bearcats vs. Rutgers

Sitting at 4.5 now. I like Cincinnati here. Rutgers do have their whole O-line returing, but their QB situation is up on the air. They have a true fresman(couldn't play in this caliber game IMO) or you have a 5th year senior with little experience.

Cincinnati just coming off winning the Big East, with Tony Pike. While he is not the best QB out there, he has been around the block and is actually starting a full season. Cincinnati also has a new defense that Rutgers haven't seen yet.

I like +4.5, was 5 I belive, hell, the ML doesn't look to shabby either.

Apparently he could care less if the extremely much larger number of posters that visit The CFB Forum than do this forum who vist TheRx looking for just such information ever got to view his thread. They don't count I guess.

Even now at 10:20AM EDT on a Tuesday morning CFB has more visitors than the Offshore Forum:

The Rx College Football Forum (297 Viewing)
Discuss anything related to betting College Football. Post Your Picks in Here!

OFFSHORE FORUM - Online Sportsbetting (163 Viewing)
Mentioned in NY TIMES, WSJ, USA TODAY, & DRF. The internet's most popular and busiest sports betting forum. The place to discuss all kinds of sports and gambling related subjects.

I'm not a veteran poster? Or I'm not a kiss ass....which is it?

Wilheim I appreciate the fast the response. I would have to say the only reason I really come to the RX is for the offshore forum. Because I think BAS does a great job with the threads that he creates and also the threads that everyone else brings to the table are usually very good. Regardless of who the poster is (And I know some people have been here forever) I dont think anyone should be allowed to post the picks in this part of the forum. It takes away from the offshore forum IMO. Like you said there is a place for people to post their picks and this isn't one of them. But hey like I said before I have no say nor do I want any. So obviously those choices are yours. But again thanks for the reply.

Here is the post I made on the subject last Friday so all who read Fish's post would be clear on our policy.

09-04-2009, 02:59 PM

BOL - Fishki - I hope you win in a cakewalk...

For the record Fish is among a handful of very veteran Rxers we bend one of our rules a bit for and allow them to post their top plays for the greater good of the troops here on The Offshore Fourm.

Moderators look the the other way in recogntion of long and generous service when vets like Fish want to share.

There are a handful of others that are in Fish's group. Notably G.Money with an occasional pony, Sportsavant with his Canadien Football special, Judge Wapner with anything he recommends, Slim with an everybody and their pet Iguana plays, TryTryTry with a pony or exacta, Iceman with a + even situation, Bellyputter with a golf play, of course CoachLT with a RubberBand selection, although he usually shares them with his pals in College Foots. Finally a Buffalo only for or against play from Harrington.

Just in case anyone was wondering if we had changed policy - no we haven't except on rare occasions and when any of the everyone plays something events occur like the Kentucky Derby, The Masters, The World Series, The Super Bowl or a super boxing match (although those are few and far between anymore)..

Thanks and best of luck to all you Miners backers, wil...
