Ohio State players headed to Los Angeles this week for the ESPYs all said they felt Braxton Miller deserved to be part of the small traveling party for all that he has done for the program, but at least one parent of a player took exception.

Annie Apple is the mother of Eli Apple, a cornerback who entered the starting lineup for the Buckeyes last season and a member of 2014 recruiting class along with Barrett, who started all 12 regular season games at quarterback for Ohio State last season after Miller was knocked out with a shoulder injury.

Annie Apple @SurvivinAmerica

JT Barrett is not only one of the best QBs to play at Ohio State (check the record books) but a great leader by example. He should be going

Annie Apple @SurvivinAmerica JT not going to the ESPYs to rep for best team nomination is like Destiny Child winning a Grammy and Beyonce not being invited to attend.

She was among the outspoken advocates for players' families to get some financial assistance last season as costs mounted for travel to the College Football Playoff, and raises a valid question considering the huge role Barrett played in the Buckeyes' national championship season.

So what gives? A team spokesman told FOX Sports that Miller and linebacker Joshua Perry were chosen as guests along with Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliott, who were invited by ESPN. Jones, who replaced Barrett after a broken ankle ended his season, is personally nominated for an award for best breakout performance.

For his part, Barrett played the role of peacemaker.

If the sophomore puts up another season like he did in 2014 when he set a Big Ten record for touchdowns accounted for, he will probably have a good shot at making his own awards tour in the future.

JT and his pops both say the right things....but we shall see. You have a record setting young qb, Jones the NFL talent than won the big games, and then Miller the two-time big ten player of the year. In 2015, Ohio States biggest opponent will be themselves. If they get through unscathed and without internal factions, it will be one amazing coaching job.

Funny, no one has realized that EVERY qb under Urban Meyer has shined in college and be nothing in the pro's. Chris Leak, Tim Tebow, Alex Smith, that one dumbass qb at Bowling Green, all 3 qb's at Ohio State.

Stay away from any Urban Meyer QB. They have 2 reads. Look at their track record. If you don't run an offense in college completely, most likely you will fail in the NFL. Brady is only exception I can think of.

Seriously, does anyone see Braxton Miller being an NFL star? How about JT Barrett? Cardale Jones? Really? They all stink when it comes to the NFL. I would not take any of them before the 7th round.

...good answer. But we were looking for: The Falls

Witchita Falls??? LOL

I think of that city and I think of an episode of "king of the hill" when they tried to get Arlen instead of Witchita Falls to be the home of the Cowboys training camp. Haha

Their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square.
