A couple more deaths & these f'ing idiots will finally do something to create some order during these debacles. It's not that difficult if they really want to do it right.

there is nothing we can do....the baby is gone

http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local...worker_dies_at_long_island_walmart_after.html

A worker died after being trampled and a woman miscarried when hundreds of shoppers smashed through the doors of a Long Island Wal-Mart Friday morning, witnesses said.
The unidentified worker, employed as an overnight stock clerk, tried to hold back the unruly crowds just after the Valley Stream store opened at 5 a.m.
Witnesses said the surging throngs of shoppers knocked the man down. He fell and was stepped on. As he gasped for air, shoppers ran over and around him.

"He was bum-rushed by 200 people," said Jimmy Overby, 43, a co-worker. "They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too...I literally had to fight people off my back."

Nassau County Police are still investigating and would not confirm the witness accounts. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. Police did say there were several injuries but weren't more specific.
Jessica Keyes was among the shoppers. She told the Daily News she saw a woman knocked down just a few feet from the dying worker.
"When the paramedics came, she said 'I'm pregnant,'" Keyes said.
Paramedics treated the woman inside the store and then, according to Keys, told the woman:

"There's nothing we can do. The baby is gone."

Dear Lord how sickening and sad...and totally preventable. My heart goes out to his and her families.

Wal-Mart will end up forking over a good chunk because of this, as well they should.

And perhaps they can learn from this and prevent this from ever happening again.

I didn't do shit this morning. Everything I get now online for about the same deal. (except those low-priced laptops, which they tout on the ads but end up having f'ing only ONE in the store).

People need to take a real hard look at themselves and figure out what is truly important in life....and it ain't a fucking X-box.

If they were GIVEING shit away. I would not put myself through that.

In the news briefs yesterday, I read where a guy in Indonesia was trampled to death in an elephant stampede. Makes more sense than this.

I have never understood gift certificates. I give cash and as of yet no one has acted like they were offended.

Makes sense. For a social conservative, that way you can control what they buy with the money.

I like getting gift cards...If I get Cash I'll usually do something responsible with it and pay some bills or buy groceries...I never spend it on myself.

If I get a gift card it forces me to buy myself something...

When I buy gifts, I go out of my way to make them personal. I don't think I could ever be happy getting or giving a DVD Player.

Aside from today's tragedy, it's not uncommon for people to attend these events for the sole purpose of faking injuries in order to get a bunch of money. One women, not sure of the specifics, was injured and filed legal actions 7 of the last 9 black Fridays at a wall mat and other stores.

She was exposed in Fl. last week or so for falling in one of these store stampede lines. Either way Stores should stop these promotions so people don't get hurt.

Besides, it is not fair to people with disabilities who may not be able to participate cause they may have no hands or feet and can't grab stuff to take advantage of these events. This is what I think about this here matter.
