I didn't see the game but how did they get robbed when they were already losing the game with 30 seconds left?
It was tied 2-2 with about 25 seconds to go and Byfuglien went in on a breakaway. Kronwall caught him and at the last second as he was shooting lifted his stick and he never got a shot off. The ref...[who was RIGHT THERE] called a hook on the play.
Relays clearly showed is was a beautiful play by Kronwall and not only should there not have been a penalty shot called but not even a penalty. Byfuglien scored on the penalty shot. The Hawks then scored an empty netter for the 4-2 final.
Just saw the play on HNIC and while I agree it was a cheap call I never saw Kronwall lift a stick. He was beat, got his own stick up and I can see why a hook could have been called. Still, giving him a penalty shot was questionable. Probably a penalty would have been more appropriate.
Either way it means dick. If Detroit cared so much about what's left of these regular season games they never should have lost 5 of their last 7, (or whatever it was), and never should have been tied 2-2 late today to a team they've dominated this year.
