Waste of time. There are better reasons to go after them but in 2 months they will be pardoned.

Sounds pretty thin. You can indict a chair in Texas due to the favorable rules for prosecutors.

was just getting ready to post this...

this will not turn out good for cheney in my opinion...

the thinness you speak of is true... so here is the deal...

cheney has something to do with some company that runs many prisons around the country...well,many prisoners have died (murdered) in these prisons with the knowledge of the company...this case has been building since the death of Kenneth Keith Kallenbach of Howard Stern fame...

http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2...kenneth_keith_kallenbach_howard_stern_co.html

Stern turned bulldog reporter Steve Langford loose on this story back in april and he has been digging into the records of this company,he even had the CEO of this company on tape laughing out loud about all the deaths at these prisons...

The mysterious death of Kenneth Keith Kallenbach continues to lead in unexpected directions. Howard 100 News’ Steve Langford reports that The GEO Group, the company that runs the prison where Kallenbach was held until just before he died, has been re-indicted on murder charges in Texas in connection with an inmate beaten to death in a GEO-run prison. But now the DA in Willacy County Texas says a grand jury has indicted Vice President Dick Cheney on a charge of engaging in organized crime. The DA reports that the indictment alleges Dick Cheney invested in and profited from private prison companies including the GEO Group, companies that Dick Cheney would have allegedly known were involved in an unusual number of assaults and fatalities in custody. Howard 100 News will have details on this developing story all day long.

McALLEN, Texas — A South Texas grand jury has indicted Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales on charges related to the alleged abuse of prisoners in Willacy County's federal detention centers.

The indictment criticizes Cheney's investment in the Vanguard Group, which holds interests in the private prison companies running the federal detention centers. It accuses Cheney of a conflict of interest and "at least misdemeanor assaults" on detainees by working through the prison companies.

Gonzales is accused of using his position while in office to stop an investigation into abuses at the federal detention centers.

Another indictment charges state Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr. with profiting from his public office by accepting honoraria from prison management companies.

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (AP) — A judge dismissed indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and told the south Texas prosecutor who brought the case to exercise caution as his term in office ends.
Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel Guerra had accused Cheney and the other defendants of responsibility for prisoner abuse. The judge's order on Monday ended two weeks of sometimes-bizarre court proceedings.

Guerra is leaving office at the end of the month after soundly losing in his March primary election.

"I suggest on behalf of the law that you not present any cases to the grand jury involving these defendants," Administrative Judge Manuel Banales said in court while ruling that eight indictments against Cheney, Gonzales and others were invalid.

He also set a Dec. 10 hearing on whether to disqualify Guerra from those cases.
