Is there any sense at all in putting a write-in vote.Seems like I would just be throwing my vote away.My vote will be counted in NY,so doubt it will make a difference anyway.Opinions?

Judge,

My old man has submitted a write-in vote every year since 1964. His take is that he feels voting is a civic duty and even if he doesn't agree with either major party candidate, at least he's gonna pull the lever.

Pretty sure I'm gonna do the write in thing.Never have done so,but this year just can't see giving my support to Kerry when I don't really support him.Would strictly be an anti Bush vote.I'm sure a lot of Kerry voters feel the same way. So will write in a vote for Powell who seems to be the only one in government I trust at the moment. Thanks for the imput.

Judge,

LOL - my old man's last two write-ins were for Colin Powell and he told me he's leaning towards the third for Powell.

I'm trying to tell him that a vote for anybody but Kerry is in effect, a vote for Bush.

But let your conscience be your guide.

I'd like to see us go to a system where we can vote for or against someone. You still get only one vote, but you can cast it either way for either candidate. The guy with the best net voting tally would win. Even a guy with a negative total can win, as long as his opponents have lower negative totals.

I can just imagine the tidal wave of negative GWB votes this year that would come flowing in, many from disgusted republicans

I'm thinking that maybe if dissatisfied voters start putting in more write-ins,maybe it could lead to a viable 3rd party which this country desperately needs.Mudbone, tell your old man I'm with him.

I voted for myself in 1988 and 1992, since I didn't like the choices then.

I later came to appreciate what Clinton administration was doing for the country, so have voted Dem in past two cycles.

I think Kerry is a horrible candidate, but he's NOT Bush.

It's a sad day in America, when our election comes down to that

This is exactley why Bush wins easily.Right now the polls show a tie...but when it come to nut cuttin time. Its Kerry that people won't be able to vote for.

Don't forget Kerry is head over heals over France and their "enlightned" way of life, like letting 15,000 of it citzens die over a heat wave last year..way to go...Also brining back the joys of anti-semitism in "gay" Paree..nice job.
