The line is Virginia tech -3.5
I am really liking Virginia tech to win by touchdown. After watching couple of Va tech games, only thing is T. Taylor gets lucky with some throws. On the flip side Va Tech defense looks good enough to stop Georgia tech's triple option. What do you guys think?

I believe GT keeps it close and might win it straight up...hmmm ML maybe?
gotta remember they're not playing in blacksburg...each team will run it down each others throat

I'm a huge GT fan. Been following the ACC for 7 years now. So without being bias I would have to say I see Tech being able to keeep this one close under three conditions:

1. They score first
2. They score last
3. They win the T/O battle

I'm going to do some further research and see if I cant get an inside scoop on this game. I live outside of campus, however this is my second semester at the school. In the meantime here are some trends to get you started...

As an underdog of 3 pts or less georgia tech is 8-2 ATS its last ten. 6-2 ATS as home underdogs.

GL I'll be back..:toast:

GA Tech is defenseless, look how many points people are putting on the board. I expect VT to drop 30+ and hold GT to 24 or Less. Going VT (but i am not that confident, just lack of other handicappable games.

i played VT for half a unit, but as I said in my other thread, for the past 5 or so years (since they have been in the ACC), tech gets off to a dominant start in the ACC and then lays an egg on offense, often against an unranked team.

I'm taking Vtech because I think they are the better team, but the fact that it is on the road and the fact that beamer and company can't seem to close the season out without any hiccups make me uncomfortable in this spot. hence the half a unit play

As much as I dislike the Hokies, they are the better team.
Lay the points.

How do you figure they can't close the season out?

2004: 7-1 ACC (after 0-1 start)
2005: 7-1 ACC (only loss to #6 Miami)
2006: 6-2 ACC (after 2-2 start)
2007: 7-1 ACC (after 3-1 start)
2008: 5-3 ACC (after 2-2 start)

Dunno. Seems pretty good "closing" to me.

Taking VT and laying the points. GT too one-sided. VT will manhandle them. Under might be good too...

You would think Vtech is a lock, but the big concern is that the triple option can be one of the most explosive in the game. Vtech has relatively young linebackers and since very few teams run the option a team only gets to spend 4 days learning to defend it. The key is discipline. There are so many different runners available especially with the double wing version that Gtech runs, the safeties and corners must be always on run support....then with single coverage on receivers and and tight ends....boom play action for a big gain.....this game scares me personally...If Gtech doesn't turn the ball over, which tends to be the flaw with the option, I can see them keeping it close

I disagree. The triple option shouldn't be a problem for a defensive minded team. I think that VT has shown that they are a good defensive team. IMO, the triple option is more of a gimmick because it has been exposed and there are ways to shut it down. Once GT gets shut down and if VT gets a lead of 2 or more scores, then GT is done. Just my personal opinion...

They are good defensively and on Special Teams. I don't think Taylor is much of a QB, but he can move in the pocket and run, which is worth a lot in college football......I don't agree that the triple option is a gimmick offense....I mean didn't Nebraska win three titles in 4 years using the I formation based triple option? Teams have gotten away from it...it's the cyclicleness (sic) of the game....just look at the "wildcat' offense it is really called the single-wing....it's an 100 year old offense. Why is it working? Well, I think it is because few teams use it, so defense don't get to prepare much for it.

If Vtech gets through this, they could (with help) get to the BCS title game

Good Luck and don't gamble your tuition. Put $50 on the Bengals to win Superbowl and relax with a hangover on Sunday afternoon and root them on. Good Luck  YOLO
