Young lost his starting job to Kerry Collins last year when he struggled horribly in new coordinator Mike Heimerdinger's offense, then sprained his MCL in Week 1. "If them guys don’t want me to be in there, it’s time for me to make a career change," he said. "I’m ready to play ball. If they’re not ready for me to play ball, then somebody is." The Titans say V.Y. will compete in camp, but he'd have to outplay Collins by a huge margin to regain the position.

And by "somebody" I assume he meant "the Toronto Argonauts."

Ah, Vince, what happened to the level-headed guy who was at Texas?

Agreed. Young has no future in the NFL as a starter. If he did, teams like Miami and Minnesota, who are thinking about running the "wildcat" or what ever you want to call it, would have been contacting Tennessee already. You never hear Young's name mentioned.

Trade me

This whole trade me attitude is very prevelent in the NBA, but now you are seeing it in the NFL. I don't like how I'm being traded, so trade me. So sad.

Vince Young has a bigger contract than most of those "overpaid" CEOs everybody bitches about and all he has to do is sit his 6'5 ass on the bench and collect checks. So sad.

Obviously their are not too many people any place else that want him. The only person I have heard talking about a trade is him.

Talked with my buddy yesterday, a big time Titan fan. When told of Young's request, I'd swear I saw tears of joy.

i'm surpried people are ripping on VY. He took a shitty team led by Kerry Collins and led them to a near playoff berth his first year, losing the last game to the Pats to keep them from making it.

he inspired and led a bad team to do better and they did.

the next year, they went to the playoffs under VY.

his record as a starter was quite good actually even if he didnt prove to the be best QB in the NFL

he gets hurt last year, has some emotional issues (which i cant excuse). gets benched and kerry finishes up the season by getting them the top seed and then losing their first round.

so why wouldnt he deserve treatment by a team he helped turn around with

'The Titans say V.Y. will compete in camp, but he'd have to outplay Collins by a huge margin to regain the position. "

a HUGE margin? why huge? what if he outplayd Collins by a small amount...that's not enough?

i guess there's more going on here than meets the eye....

Call it the Ricky Williams effect: Something happened to his head after he left Austin.

After he sat on the bench last season with a towel on his his head and didn't want to go back in the game, would any coach ever want him leading his team again? That's why he would have to outplay Collins by a huge margin. Because the current knock on Young is that he gets rattled and behaves unpredictably. Just about everyone would give up a little talent for a QB who is calm in bad situations.

Your guess is correct. VY is a head case, and no team wants a head case as a starting QB. He has some serious emotional issues. He is also not the brightest bulb in the lamp. He is not a great QB, and probably never will be. He has to be in the limelight, or he is unhappy. I would never start this guy, because I do not know when he would fold up on me metally.
