If i'm not mistaken, Vick has only thrown for over 200 yards, twice this year. But he's really really fast.

It's all about his running. He is a big risk for injury. Even so, I don't think he is worth the money. I don't think alot of players are worth millions though.

Absolutely ridiculous. Unlike most Qb's who get better as they get a little older, Vick will only get worse. His complete game revolves around his legs, so it's not that difficult to figure out that as the years slip by..........so will he......

If Schaub does well this week he may get a "Steve Young like" back-up QB contract....For the most part I agree with most of the above post; I would have made it a five year contract, after that there would be an option. Never no about the legs or injuries.

Gotta love this traffic on the ATL roads.

i dont know but i am really sick of seeing commercials for the ESPN movie "TILT" being aired in january. they should have casted me for the lead role that would have been cool.

that was a great deal atlanta made. he sells tickets and makes the franchise money. its a sound financial move. of course he wont last 10 neither will most of the other QB's that signed 10+ they can just cut them down the road the bulk of the money is NOT gauranteed.

its smarter to sign an idiot box athlete QB for 10 in the NFL becuase then if he is good, he has to play for his contract money and not more and if he sucks you can just cut him and play some loser you drafted from michigan or something.

1. Vick will be lucky to make it 5 years with the beating he takes. He doesn't have the bulk of a Culpepper or a McNabb to take the abuse that mobile QB's take (then again Steve McNair comes to mind). Every time he turns and runs Falcon fans have to be holding their breath twice (once for the moves he makes and once for the hits he takes).

2. On the Pro Bowl subject...which team had more Pro Bowlers than any other team in the NFL? ;) We just have more skilled athletes than anyone else.

Eagles Want Vick Back Next Year, But No Contract Talks Yet

The Philadelphia Eagles seem to want Michael Vick back next year, but have not yet begun contract talks with the star quarterback according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report. Vick is in the final year of a two-year contract and is currently leading the NFL with a 105.3 passer rating. Despite Vick’s stellar play, there are several obstacles to him staying in Philly.
First and foremost is the labor uncertainty the NFL is facing this season, with the current collective bargaining agreement expiring and talk of a lockout. That may prevent the Eagles from applying a franchise player tag to Vick. Additionally, the Eagles already gave an $11 milllion signing bonus to quarterback Kevin Kolb, who Vick replaced in this season’s first game. Vick’s durability is a concern as he missed three of the team’s first eight games with a rib injury suffered in a loss to the Washington Redskins.
Vick also seems to prefer returning to the Eagles, saying he appreciates the team taking a risk on signing him after his unjust incarceration. “”When nobody else wanted me, they did,” said Vick. “I definitely have to take that into consideration when it’s time to make a decision on something.” But the star quarterback is at least saying he’s only worrying about this season. “I’m enjoying being here with this season. I enjoy being with [Eagles head coach] Andy [Reid]. I’m just having fun right now. … Whatever happens happens.

Vick was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for guiding the Eagles to a 26-24 win over the Colts last Sunday. In the game, Vick completed 17 of 29 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown, and ran 10 times for 74 yards and another touchdown.

Vick will try to avenge his only loss as a starter this year on Monday night when the Eagles go to Washington. Vick is good friends with Redskins defensive back DeAngelo Hall, and Hall says he’s thrilled that Vick is again playing so well:

I’ll tell ya, man, I’m definitely shocked at what he’s doing. Definitely shocked. After watching him that first season out [of prison], I was like, ‘Man, I don’t know if he’ll ever be the same guy.’ Then watching him this year, it’s just like … you’re amazed. It’s like, ‘Damn. This dude might be better than ever.’ I’m just happy for him. I know a lot of people thought he’d never be able to do this. A lot of people thought he was finished. But he’s not finished. That’s for sure.
