Just because you're taking a break, doesn't mean you have to be a stranger.

I suppose you've been doing your homework in perparation for the post season. What's your take on San Jose? They give up 1 or 2 goals a game, with flawless goaltending, and stifling defence. They've been playing playoff hockey for the entire season.

They'll likely meet St. Louis, or Edmonton.

Looks like Tampa will play the Islanders. While DiPietro can steal a game, I don't think he's good enough to carry the entire team past the hot Lightning. Oh, I forgot, the Islanders have Alexi Yashin too. He's probably the best fouth line centre in the whole league.

Can Montreal steal one? Is Detroit worth laying all that chalk on? Can Brodeur do it again, all by himself?

Tell us Vic! I wan't the playoffs to start today!

..lol….

Yeah I’m still alive and yes I am working on my playoff list of contenders and I’ll have it up this weekend followed by all my series predictions once everything is set after Sunday’s games.

You read my mind sharp. I just took San Jose to win everything at 13/1 at BoDog last night. Anyone can take chalk but give me a team with a legitimate chance and still getting somewhat decent value.

So I have Tampa Bay in the east, at 25/1 for the cup, and San Jose out of the west. My dream matchup for Lord Stanley’s Cup.

However this season I see several teams that can take the whole thing. Boston, Philly, Toronto, Ottawa, and the Lightning all have a shot out of the east. I don’t like the Devils without Stevens but he is starting to skate so I’ll wait to see what happens there.

Detroit and Colorado look ordinary right now and beatable. Dallas is coming on strong and Turco’s suspension, (and timing of), could be the best thing that could ever have happened to this team. Then there is San Jose. I can’t see Vancouver minus Bertuzzi.

I also agree that either the Canadians or Islanders don’t prove to be much of a challenge in the first round against the Lightning. Especially Montreal as of right now.

I did a radio show today and when I was forced to predict the conference finalists and Cup champion I took a San Jose / Philadelphia final with the Flyers taking the cup, (that’s for you Savant!). But in truth I can picture so many scenarios it makes my head spin. That’s why I too can’t wait till next Wednesday night.

Drop the puck already!

Well, you can't just drop a nugget like that and not explain. You did a gambling show? A sports talk show? How did they come to ask you? A long time ago The Shrink (from theprescription.com), and some other guy used to do a weekely NFL football internet broadcast, and it was really cool. Too bad it's gone.

In Ottawa we don't have any sports gambling radio shows etc. It's mostly all hockey all the time. It pretty much sucks if you are a fan of more than one sport. In all seriousness, I'd say that less than 1/2hour was spent discussing the ENTIRE NCAAB tourney. It's pathetic.

Sharp,

The show was mostly due to my exposure on posting forums like the Rx. It really was a honor to be asked but I’m not sure my forte. I don’t believe my limited journalistic talents translate well to the spoken word. Especially with my stumbling diction.

If you would like to hear a strictly sports gambling show that’s archived daily (M-F) check out sportswireonline.com. They hit up all the sports…well everything BUT hockey but they do baseball incredibly well and worth listening to.
