Very Strong Pick In ODU Game Tonight...

EAST TENNESSEE STATE PLUS 13 vs. OLD DOMINION...

Basketball is all about matchups and quite frankly, this games scares me a lot, being such an avid ODU fan...

ETSU has a sensation Guard who was recruited by ODU, namely Tim Smith, formally from Newport News, Va. According to several sources (SI included) this kid is one of the fastest guards in the country. I think that is going to be one of the Key matchups in favor of ETSU...

They have another guy who ODU also tried to recruit, named Brad Nuckles. He's about 6'9, 230lbs, a pretty good player.

They also have another big kid, about 6'8, 260lbs, in the middle.

ODU should win this game, but ETSU is much better than their record would suggest.

Lastly, ODU has had to deal with FINAL EXAMS all week so if they come out rusty, it wouldn't shock me...

I see extreme VALUE here taking this LIVE DOG plus 13 points...

These are lots more reasons that come to my mind when handicapping this game in favor of the DOG here....

ODU has 3 games coming up in 5 nights, with a BIG REVENGE GAME against ST. JOSEPH'S at HOME on WEDNESDAY...

Their Coach, Blaine Taylor is not known for rubbing it in and would likely take out the Starters as fast as he could to rest the team for the next two games on Monday and Wednesday...

With all due respect, ETSU lost to CINCINNATI 80-77 in the First Round of March Madness last year.

And the year before that, they lost to WAKE FOREST in 1st Rd 76-73.

ODU sat home during these times...

Tim Smith...Can be a great player when he is under control which hasn't happened often this year but ODU has no one that can match up well against his speed...

Nuckles...Will be a very good player when he gets back in playing shape.

Sneed.. Had a MONSTER game against ALABAMA and a good game against College of Charleston

I will respectfully debate you all day long on this one.

ETSU's past success is much different today, as there team is but a shadow of the past two year's teams.

I like Timmy a lot and even coached him a few years in Denbigh youth leagues, but he is not the kind of guy that can carry an outclassed team.

I'm not a big Blaine Taylor fan and although I have known peripherally a few ODU assistants, I can remain fairly neutral regarding them.
