out with the old and in with the youth, dont like getting rid of richard jefferson but bringing in more youth can only make this team better if they can come together over the next couple of years, love the draft picks of Lopez, Douglas Roberts and Anderson, couple them with devin harris at the point and hopefully Vinsanity and watch out in the east.

very good front office in NJ. Look at the steal the J.Kidd trade is looking like & lining up for LBJ in '10

Lifetime Nets fan here, great job yesterday, and seems like all the industry giants agree.

Now, let's see if we can get some value for VC.

Why in the world does anyone think that Yi and Simmons for Jefferson was a good trade? Jefferson was coming off a career year and thats all they got for him. Especially when a few weeks ago there was talk of getting Carmelo and Camby for Jefferson and a draft pick. I would rather have Carmelo and Camby for Jefferson and Lopez and I'd throw in Anderson. Then Yi and Simmons.....Simmons will never be a starter and YI is not that good

The Nets might have had the best draft out of every team. I'm not saying they got the best collection of players because that would be Chicago, but they did the best with the position they were in. Brook Lopez at 10? Biggest steal of the draft by far. He should have gone in the top 5. I'm surprised CDR lasted that long as well, especially when Chicago had the opportunity to take him and Rose.

Now the Nets have Lopez, Yi, Harris and CDR to build their franchise around. Not a bad start at all.

My exact thoughts, though if they do get a Lebron or Wade its only because of this trade, so who knows

Ok so I get that the trade was based on Lebron coming in 2 years. So you the nets will be a loser for the next 2 years in the crappy east, and in 2010 if Lebron, Wade or Bosh don't sign with them then this trade goes down as flat out terrible. Everyone assumes that LBJ will come because of Jay-Z..what happens if their relationship goes bad in the time being. I think it was a risky move with no reward for at least 2 years and Even if Lebron comes in 2 years there i no guarantee that the supporting cast will be good enough to win a championship. Fans don't want to wait for the future they want to win now. Now all the Nets fans will be Chinese so at least they will fill some seats over the next 2 years

I really think you guys are underrating Yi. Yes, Jefferson is better, but they weren't winning anything with him there, so the smart move was to get rid of him and Carter and pick up some young guys to build the team around. They can build a team around Lopez and Yi. Yi was decent last year for the Bucks, and now he gets to move to his more natural position at the 3 spot for NJ. Do you guys realize how difficult it will be to guard Yi at the SF position? That's a 7 footer playing the wing, and he can shoot incredibly well.

I think fans are way too critical of international players. They take more time to develop and get accustomed to the NBA, but when they do they are deadly. Fans also tend to not like them because they haven't heard of them and never watched them play college ball. You'll be happy with Yi and Lopez, two 7 footers, running the team in 2-3 years.

I doubt NJ gets LeBron also. Sounds more like a dream to me. I think he's staying in Cleveland.
