Hey guys...

I'm looking to go to Vegas sometime this summer. It will be my 1st time and I want to play in some good, reputible and low buy-in NL Hold Em tournaments.
Would it be better to play on the Strip or go downtown? Any insider info on this would be appreciated.

Depends on what your definition of low buy-in is. There are several lists online, and the back of Cardplayer magazine has a big list.

The Orleans runs good tourneys, with buy-ins that I've played ranging from $40-$100 (a lot of them are rebuys though).

Since it'll be my 1st time in a Vegas casino and wanting to get a feel of what a true poker room was like I was thinking of a low buy in between 25-50$. I know it's not a large buy-in but I'm there initially for the experience.
Would it be better to play downtown in my case? Are the dealer/house takes lower in the downtown casinos?

Thanx 4 the info and thanx to TheFawv for showing me this site!!:toast:

Binions huh? Out of curiosity, what makes them the best compared to the big boys on the Strip?

Pokerplayernewspaper.com has a good list of games\times\days\etc.

FWIW, I've done much better at the MGM than at Binions(about 40-60 hours of play total)
