Excuse my ignorance, it's been a day or two since I was married. BUT, one question comes to mind about these marriages. Are they recognized as legal in ALL states? (I seem to vaguely remember something about having to have some paperwork, maybe a bloodtest or something before getting married. That may be "gone with the wind".

Every state is allowed to come up with its own rules over marriage and the others must respect those. Actually any marriage done by government authorities, whether in the US or in any country in the world is generally respected as legal. If these Nevada marriages weren't recognized everywhere believe me people wouldn't be coming in droves to do them. Only Britney was foolish enough to think it was "just for fun" and not legal.
