I would love to see VCU win tonite. But the reality is, these kids are on a whirlwind tour like they're NBA pros.... which they aren't. So what's going on in their heads?

Wednesday nite - Beat Delaware at home ( a 7pm game ), a quick media interview then back to the dorms to pack their bags, hopped on a bus for a 3-4 hours ride from Richmond to Baltimore, checked into a hotel.

Thursday 8:00AM flight outta Baltimore, layover at O'hare in Chicago, arrived at the Reno airport 5:00PM local time. Sleep sleep sleep sleep.....

Friday nite, 6pm local time, on national TV - ESPNU.

Saturday 8am, leave Reno - layover in Las Vegas - arrives at Baltimore airport, hop on a bus for the ride back to Richmond....

Something gotta give.

I'm going to stick with the hometown crews with 7 days off to prepare for this game.

Gimme :

NEVADA -1.5

Damn it Tbone ~ a lot of strong systems and cappers on VCU tonight. But your points and perspective are also strong. Gonna have to give this one some more thought now. Thanks for the alternative perspective and BOL with your hoops!

Both eric maynor and larry sanders are nba draft prospects did you take that into consideration? Bradford Burgess is an emerging freshman stud with a soft touch from the outside. Ed Nixon's suffocating defense will lock down Nevada's most formidable player, and Joey Rodriguez' 3 point shooting, despite his unorthodox release, leads the CAA in three point efficiency. Larry Sanders is a game changer with his propensity for shot blocking, and we need not say a word about Eric Maynor... he goes without saying.

ZC: the phrase mentioned is NBA PROSPECTS. They aren't NBA Pros yet.

Yes, I am familiar with the Rams. I go to school there. And have season tickets with great seats. In fact, general admissions tickets are still free to students.

The problem is not skill in tonite's game. It's the psychie, the traveling, the altitude. Remember, Wednesday nite's game was a big win for the RAMS as the win puts 'em in 1st place in the CAA conference (overtaking Northeastern). It'd be too much to expect 'em on a court 1700 miles from home with a quick turnaround after a big win.

I'm willing to put some more on Nevada in the 2HF, as the altitude might have an negative effect on the RAMS.

They can prove me wrong, and I might lose this game, but I'm playing with reason and reality with these kids.

the line was short bones, given all those factors you named to begin with Nevada should of been a heavier favorite. They weren't, it was a trap bet, and VCU was a lock salad sandwich.
