Vancouver at Edmonton..... thoughts?

Vancouver is still on fire, despite giving up a couple leads against Anaheim. They've won 3 in a row on the road, and overall 4/5. Edmonton has all but sealed their fate with three consecutive home losses, and have only earned 2 of a possible 14 points in their past 7 games. Gonna be very hard for them to make up the ground, as they have to leap frog several teams, and have to make up 4 points (perhaps 5 due to tiebreaker of wins) in their final 4 games.
Vancouver leads the season series 3-2.

Here's the real x-factor. Taylor Pyatt's fiance was killed in a car accident in Jamaica, where she was on holidays. A terrible tragedy, and one that you have no idea how it will impact the team on the ice. Personally, I think they rise to the occasion... pull out a 3-1 or 4-1 victory.

Thoughts?

agree with you PTB and I'm already on the Canucks at -125.

Two teams heading in opposite directions, Vancouver needs the win for the 3 seed, Edmonton has looked lifeless to me most of the season but especially now when they should be giving it their all.

One team has the superior offense, defense, special teams, (Edm.PK is horrendous), and goaltender. One team has a better road record than the other has at home.

As you can tell by my BetJam picks lately, I'm not a fan of taking favorites but this one, (laying -125), offers far too much value to pass.

I'd be a fool to go against your picks over the last few months! I do think I'm going to make Vancouver my play.

However, I do want to know why you are on Cbus tonight? This one just smells like a big 2-0 Preds victory.

Injuries alone. Preds can't score right now.

Although the under does look attractive, even at 5.

True, but the Preds could never really score in the first place. Home team has won every game of this series, and this could be the Preds' season on the line.

....of course I have the Blues at 500/1 so if Nashville loses I won't be entirely broken hearted.

haha... i love it!

In the end, I will probably just lay off the Preds game... but I will be cheering for them. Gotta love the fight in that team (and their coach)... plus I just don't like the Jackets.

I will play VCR ML in Regulation. I have been using this strategy with them must of the season. I hate losing in a shootout.

(post made after Raymond's goal)

Raymond on the 1st line was the worst thing the Nucks could do. There is no reason to break up the top two lines just cause a 3rd liner is not available to play. Raymond is a good young kid, with lots of speed and potential, but the kid has made the wrong play with the puck almost everytime he's had it tonight. He often misses the backdoor pass, or chooses to shoot when a clear pass is available. The odd time he does pass, it's been when he's in a good shooting (or stick handling) position.
