The University of Virginia has backed out of a home and home series against Stanford University, replacing the Card with Indiana. The excuse given was "scheduling conflicts" but we all know the truth. UVA football is so bad that they simply could not be competitive against Stanford. They have a chance for a split with Indiana. The thing that strikes me as odd is that these games were scheduled for 2017-18. I guess Virginia sees the handwriting on the wall.

Yeah....they were probably scared.

Dude, this shit happens in college sports. And honestly, playing UVA is no different (in toughness) for Stanford than a Fresno State or Nevada. UVA will always be a 3-9 to 8-4 type program. Nothing to lose sleep over here....

Should have been gone after the 2014 season!

Agree. He should have never even gotten the job! He won an NC at Richmond....but that was Dave Clawson's team (he left to be the OC at Tennessee....and if he had stayed would have won the 1AA NC w/ Richmond). London wasn't ready to be a D1 head coach. They jumped the gun.....

I also agree. He had one good season. The rest have been disasters. I do not think that UVA really cares.

With the way Virginia has recruited the last few years and the personnel they had on last year's team, they should have been much much better. London was working off 25th and 27th ranked recruiting classes with that team and had nothing to show for it. They really should have canned him at least 2 years ago.

The uniform colors match so they can still claim to have played Stanford. No big deal.
