I'm personally going with UM on this one. I got them giving 3. I know, new coaches, new system, wrong players yada yada yada.

They will have a great d-fence and that will carry them the first couple of games. both quarterbacks have run the spread in the past (high school) so they have picked up the offense fast. the running backs are fast, especially the freshman from Texas, can't think of his name. UM always has a couple of outstanding wide outs. So they will move the ball and score points.

I think they are going to start fast, real fast. There are more players then not that remember last years lost to Ap State and I find it hard to believe they will let that happen again. To much tradition, pride and heart at UM.

so i'm sticking to UM -3 for the home opener. the big house is going to be load that will help push UM over the edge. UM by 13.

Good luck to everyone.

you know at first i thought that same thing - that Meeshigan wont allow a repeat of last yrs opener. but Utah is the real deal, it's not like they'd be sneaking up on UM even if UM doesn't lose to App St last yr. so that's a no factor. tough game to cap cuz nobody knows how good/bad Meeshigan really is.

as for the big house factor - overrated. been there plenty, not that loud. talked to players who've played there, not that loud.

this post may come off as Meeshigan bias, but i'm a Big10 guy and would love to see them win.

perhaps the Under?

Why do I feel like everyone has jumped on the Utah bandwagon?

It Was 3 For A Short While

I jumped on that, also have Utes + 4-. From all the reports I've seen out of Ann Arbor, there's been a lot of turmoil. When your best OL transfers to hated OSU, there must be something going on. RR has made a lot of changes in time honored traditions @ Mi., not all well received. IF the Wolves play up to their potential, I see a SU win. But this whole thing w/Rodriguez is too mercurial for me to play it very big $$ wise. This is NOT a great UM D, very good DL, young @ LB, decent DB's. They will face a very good O in the Utes. Up to BCS tms? I'm looking forward to this one and the new regime @ one of my most hated programs. But respected. BOL to all, 40 hrs to go TG!!

Thanks for the stat. First i was amazed by the -3 line and kept hearing things from the media and team reports how great Utah was going to be. Thought the spread was to good to be true. I guess thats what i get for listening to much to media outlets. 72% and the line moves 1/2 pt?:nono5:

I would love to see UM struggle but you have to remember they still do have great athletes and they will beat the over-hyped Utah by 2 touchdowns

I smell a huge upset here. Usually when a spread is too good to be true, it is. When is the last time that Michigan is only a 3.5 fav against a non BCS opponent?

How would this be a "huge upset" with the line set at a field goal??? If Utah wins it wont be a surprise to many people!

I think if Michigan can put up 20-24 points they win and cover. But they lost their top 2 WRs, and losing almost their whole O-line, and obviously their QB and RB I'm just not sure if they can do it. No play for me here on the spread.

michigan has been hearing how they lost possibly biggest upset last year all summer. also how a very good utah team is coming to do the same. its a scary short # giving to a non bcs school but i'd rather sit and watch to see how michigan performs before playing or fading with everything new this year implemented to the offense. gl if your playing this.

Why do you think Mich will have a great defense??:ohno:
thats the only way they are going to stay in games imo. they have some good defense players. question is will their defense be on the field too long and wear out as the season goes if offense can't adjust to new attack.

Trent and Warren are good corners and freshman Boubacar Cissoko should get some PT at nickel back, he has speed and can tackle in the open field. Terrance Taylor is very solid at D tackle and Jamison and Graham are more than capable DEs. Their weakness is at LB. I by no means think this is a top 5 defense but against the Big 10 I think this will be solid D.
