you may want to google LA Times story on his alcohol consumption and expense reports at UW.... makes for wild, wild reading.
as someone who is very familiar with AA and alcohol abuse, i can't see how he wouldn't think that hanging out in intoxicated semi-regularly in 10 different seattle bars is a bad idea. i understand wanting to get out of the house and away from the coaching pressure but just find one out-of-the-way bar that you like and have them protect you...also, have a personal assistant and get him to buy your alcohol at local store when on the road. making millions you really don't need to expense alcohol consumption.
i hope he gets help as "my friend" did... AA does really work.
interesting to see that petersen sp?, his successor at UW, won't do events with alcohol involved (not sure it that means a glass of wine at a booster's lunch or more alcohol-fuelled events)
