Record YTD: 120-80, 60% (+30.00 units)

Not having a great August so far. Only up a couple units or so for the month, but usually these big tournaments go well.

Andy Murray to win US Open (+1300)

I really like him getting these great odds here. His biggest challenge before he has to worry about the big three would be in the quarters where he could potentially face Del Porto, who is one of the hottest players on tour right now. I know some will say well how about Ferrer, who is ranked #4? Ferrer is not as good as Murray and will most likely be taken out by Del Porto if they were to meet up in the round of 16. Wawa and Simon are the other threats in his bracket, both of which he should beat. Once he gets deep there is a good chance to hedge, or let it ride. He beat Nadal a month ago so it isn't impossible for him to beat him again on hard court.

Caroline Wozniacki to win US Open (+2200)

Possibly the best young star on tour. I am very high on this girl and she will win a major title sooner rather than later. She might be ranked #21, but she is a top 10 player on tour easy, which is why only 7 girls have lower odds than her to win the tournament. Her first real big test in the tournament should come in the third round against Azarenka, but Caroline should be able to handle her. In the fourth round she has what should be a great matchup if it does indeed happen with Jelena Jankovic. I'm not sure how many people remember this, but they had one of the best womans matches at Wimbledon about 2 months ago where Caroline almost pulled off the upset. She's only improved since then and built up her confidence. She really wouldn't be too big of an underdog in that game. Maybe +175 would be my guess, and if all goes as planned that will be the point in which I have to decide whether to hedge or not. Jelena also goes down with injuries often so who knows if she'll even last that long. There's definitely value either way at 22/1.

Will have first round plays in a bit.

I'm pretty certain that TSN is covering here in Canada, and I'm sure NBC will have it for Americans. The problem with the first round matchups though is they'll show Nadal or Federer destroying their first round opponent over an actual tight match with two lesser name players.

True, and the Williams sisters ad nauseum.

I'll have to look at the online options. There is a local girl playing tomorrow I'd really like to see play.

Asia Muhammed. Local Vegas girl. She's like a +190 dog against her opponent whose name escapes me.

Winnable match.

Ahh, she's up against Rezai. Looked at that match for a bit, but don't really no much about Asia. Hows she look?

She's very young (17) and only played limited schedule.

She's a tall, lanky kid with good groundstrokes and like every other girl on the tour serve can be hit and miss.

She's a protege of Andre Agassi here in Vegas and he dad played basketball for USC.(I think mom too, not sure there)

She's improved leaps and bounds and played in the qualifiers last year at the Open so that may help her nerves.

I think if she can stay focused and consistend she can beat Rezai as she was in a similar spot when I saw her in Vegas against Czink.

Definite live underdog here and rooting for her regardless.

You're right. Remembered it wrong off the top of my head. Novak beat Nadal in the semis and Murray beat Novak in the finals. Beating Novak on hard impresses me just as much though. Djoko might be the best hardcourt player in the world.

Nadal not to win at -155 also seems like a strong bet IMO. I love him, but I can't see him winning French/Wimbledon/US Open. Too many strong players that could pull an upset, and this is Raf's worst court.

I like your play...I am in the minority that thinks Roger can win here again this year...

I'm not sure anyone should be favored from the big three in this tournament. Nadal really isn't much better than Novak and Roger, if at all, on hardcourt. Nadal is also extremely tired from all the tournaments he has played lately and gone deep in every single one. Novak/Roger would be a great semi-finals that I am looking forward to seeing. Novak might get his revenge from losing in the finals last year against Roger.

I will say this though. If Nadal can win this tournament it will have to go down as one of the greatest years for any tennis player of all time winning the French, Wimbledon, the US Open and the gold medal at the Olympics.

Shenay Perry +4.5 games (-115)

Zheng didn't look great at the Olympics and is probably a little overvalued because of her Wimbledon run. Giving her opponent 4.5 games is too much IMO. Jie can easily lose a set here.

Coco/Jankovic U 17 games (-130)

Coco just isn't even close to Jelena's level. 6-3, 6-0 is the type of match that should be expected.
