I am an ASU Alumn and know this ASU team better than most. I had a good feeling about the Devils before this game with UNLV. Obviously the game has lost a bit of its lust with the ASU loss but I do think ASU will be able to bounce back and play a very good game. With that being said I am not sure they have enough to hang within this #. They can be pissed all they want but Georgia is very good. I have not made a decision on this game as of yet. There is a chance I may just go and have a good time and be a spectator. I still cant believe ASU lost to UNLV.... A terrible loss for them .. we will see how good of a coach Erickson is now..

I had this game circled since july. Love Georgia in this spot, thought the unlv loss was going to screw up the line, but will gladly lay 6.5 with the bulldogs.

I think the UNLV loss is going to take a lot out of ASU. This was an incredibly deflating hit to the program and I think ASU is going to be extremely tight for UGA. Whatsmore, after UGA, ASU goes to Cal, then to USC, then home for Oregon, then to Oregon State... 4 brutal conference games in a row that they should be focussing on more now.

UGA, on the other hand, has quietly gone about their business and are coming off a road win in conference, which is always tough to do in the SEC. They will be pumped to be on the big stage trying to prove that their preseason #1 wasn't a fluke. Richt loves to be in the spotlight and his players love playing for him, and I think this will be the perfect spot for them to make a statement on national TV that they shouldn't be forgotten about this year, as they've become overshadowed by both USC and Oklahoma over the last couple weeks now.

From and X's and O's standpoint, ASU will have big problems stopping Moreno, Stafford should have a coming out party against a poor ASU secondary, and Carpenter will be a sitting duck against the UGA blitz with his slow release, terrible mobility, and stone for feet.

Georgia big here.

ASU could go from #15 in the country to 5 straight losses.

They are a fraud. They got smoked by the good teams they played last year. Double digit losses against Oregon, USC, and Texas.

I hit Fresno on the ML. Even thinking about this bet before you get a report on Stafford after a couple days of practice is fucking stupid. Dumb thread, take it back to that other shitty site.

They will give up like they do every year after a loss. UGA needs a statement game after a close one this weekend. UGA should win easy against a previously overrated ASU team.

Easily. One Pac-10 team each year always goes on a massive slide like that (2 years ago it was Oregon, last year it was both Oregon and Cal), and ASU looks to be the perfect candidate this year by looking at who's on deck after UGA. When the smoke clears, it'll all come back to what started it all... that quiet night in early September against UNLV when the rest of the world was watching 'SC dismantle Ohio State.

I don't trust Carpenter as a leader, the team has NEVER proven to be mentally tough as to bounce back, the program still doesn't have an identity on defense, and Erickson is overrated and doesn't enforce enough discipline on his players.

Double digit losses to Orego, USC, and Texas.

Their best win was against against a Cal team that had already fallen apart.

The only X factors are Georgia playing their first road game out west in 50+ years and the 100 degree+ temps. When LSU played in Tempe several years ago as I think #3 in the nation, ASU took them right down to the wire and only lost in the last minutes 35-31. #12 Iowa got demolished when they played there in 04 44-7, there was the famous #1 Nebraska that had gone undefeated its past two seasons that lost 19-0 there in 1996, etc. ASU is better then the UNLV game as they were likely looking ahead to Georgia.

Georgia wins this one no doubt, but the game might be much closer then people think. ASU plays major non conference opponents at home really close, and the whole off season they have been doing nothing more then preparing and looking forward too this game?

The heat won't be a factor trust me....Athens is not only hot ...but humid as hell...in our home opener people were literally collapsing and it was only like 85 or so but the humidity was so bad it was unreal

Georgia is used to this
I don't know if I'll play this though...how is ASU's defense?

Everyone I know that follows ASU very closely knew that they were gonna lay a fat egg vs UNLV. The play calling was very conservative and a complete joke. They ran 6 plays in the 4th quarter. Is that even possible?

Anyways, I couldn't tell you the last time ASU showed up in a big game like this. Going to Oregon last year 8-0 and they were down 21-3 before you cracked your second beer. I have to agree with hippie here. I think that UNLV was the kick in the junk that could make this team slip to 3-4 with their upcoming schedule.

With ASU last year it was one of those cases where they were flying under the radar cause it was Ericksons first year and they weren't expected to do much. Not so much the case this year. When the pressures on these guys turn into a cheap tent.

I don't trust their offensive line against Georgia and I wouldn't touch the points with any of your money.

ASU's defense made the UNLV QB look like Tom Brady in the 4th quarter.. He did whatever he wanted converting big 3rd down plays over and over....

no only that...unlv kept running it right down asu throuts & controled the whole 2nd half...fastest 3qt ever...asu has no offensive line...I had asu 2h...I was so upset, I started rooting for unlv to win... :pope:

now geo is a good defensive team, and of course I was on scar...and jerk off fumbles trying to streach from the 2 yard line? :think2: oh well glad I pushed!

I too went to ASU. The last time they showed up for a big game in my opinion was the Nebraska game when Plummer was QB. As much as I'd love to see them pull this off, I doubt they have a chance.
