Busier than expected today, guys, so I need to keep this one brief...
Only attractive play on the card in my eyes is Tanner over Franklin at +120. Yes, Franklin beat him once before. Yes, most rematches don't have a different result.
But this is no longer the same playing field. Tanner moved down to 185 and slipped right into it, going on a 4-0 tear against Phil Baroni, Robbie Lawler, and David Terrell. Franklin followed suit and struggled mightily against mid-carder Jorge Rivera. He insists he's made for middleweight, but his composure and physical appearance told a different story.
Just as some guys aren't built to go up in weight, some are simply too big to drop down comfortably. I say Tanner weathers an early storm and then capitalizes on Franklin's sluggishness, finally finishing him with elbows from the mount in the first or second round.
The rest of the card looks juiced, and with good reason. Favorites should roll. Maybe Shonie Carter can pull something out. Good luck.
