Romero fight IQ is definitely miserable, that fight was his for the taking.

Sherdog guys had it 1 Yoel, 1 Izzy and 1 draw...don't see any other press row yet

But their scoring is idiotic with 10-10s, 10-10s never get scored in MMA and rd 1 and 5 were not 10-10 rounds even if the fight wasn't enjoyable to watch you can't just give out 10-10s cause you aren't entertained.

I thought Yoel won 1-2-5

I didn't expect him to get the decision since he always seems to get screwed on decision but I thought he won 3/5 rds. Guess we'll see what press row says, I usually never differ much from consensus opinion on decisions either.

Yeah not much happened in 1 and 2 but that's the sport, we go by round.

I did too, but I knew he wasn’t getting that decision...

All 3 judges gave Izzy rd 5? I thought Romero won that but he definitely should've tried to grapple/wrestle more in that round to seal it. He wasn't tired because of the slow pace of the fight and it is rd 5 for all the marbles after he just lost his last 3 decisions by razor thin margins. Guy is definitely crazy.

Romero DID win Round 5, and that’s what gave him the fight IMO. Those judges weren’t gonna give it to him, though. It’s just plain and simple...

If he mixed a few TDs/grappling in, would've been tougher to deny him rd 5 tho. You can only go so far to tilt the odds in 1's favor.

It was Yoel’s fight to lose, though, as Izzy didn’t want any of that smoke. It was obvious.

Izzy is a puss of a Champion, and Yoel just doesn’t have fighter IQ, which a lot seemed to lack last night.

I’m gonna go to open mat today and tell my 2x Wrestling Champion to make sure not to use it on me when we spar today, and don’t ever use it again even though it got you here. Beyond weird, man...

One thing I will say about Yoel is his top control does kinda suck for such a wrestling pedigree. Probably why he doesn't wanna expend energy to take guys down because they're just gonna get up and it is a net negative overall. So it makes sense he didn't try to use it too much first 3 rounds or so.

After that, stupid tho, you gotta go balls to the wall.

Be interesting to see the line on Costa/Izzy, styles make fights and those guys should go well together. Big physical pressure fighter vs slick counter puncher/precision timing
