NC State has Hodge.....UCONN has home court and a big advantage in the big men....Huge advantage...

Don't see how UCONN does not take this one...

Big advantages for Uconn - experience, coaching, home court, pedigree, rebounding, point guard play,

Only advantage for NC ST is Hodge and 3 pt shooting. It will take NC St hitting 10+ 3's to win this one

will UConn win:
Jim Calhoun's tournament record vs lower seed: 31-3 SU
UConn after 3 or more consecutive non-covers: 11-1 SU

Will they cover:
NC State vs Big East L3Y : 0-4
Uconn as a neutral court favorite of 3.5 to 6 points L3Y: 6-0 ATS

If you want reasons to play NC St., I'll find them as well

Personally, I have a lot tied up in prop bets for the tourney where I need ACC to go as far as possible and win it all, and Big East to all go out as early as possible. West Va killed me on that front and UConn could really hurt those props too

Uconn

Should be interesting. UCONN is a little banged up and thi in the backcourt. WIlliams is a hurting but will be the best PG on the court with bethel out. Uconn will domintate in side. I don't see who can cover Charlie V.at 6-11? Then with Hilton Armstrong coming off the bench at 6-11. Uconn is the better shooting team and should have a big day, but one thing that is scary on match ups is Gay-Hodge. Hodge is crafty but gay is more athletic, but a freshman. I see him having a big day, but if UCONN shuts everything else down it's over. I have a weird feeling like UCONN could lose today, but will say UCONN 74 NC state 66

I think U Conn wins by 7 or 8. The homecourt crowd will now be cheering for their squad. In earlier rounds crowds want the little schools to win to have a chance to witness history ,but of course NC State doesn't fall into this category. The close opening round game will have the huskies more focused and come out and finish strong.

Dante,

I hope all is well Sir,

My thoughts on this game surround the european influenze and strong play on the NC ST team. I really like NC ST here because of the leadership that is coming form these players, and thye have nothing to lose. They look like the Cinderella team that all is looking for. Maybe you wait and see what the first half brings you on this one. gl NEWPORT

Very heavy $$$$$$$$ on UCONN here in NY. Line has only gone up 1/2 pt. to 3'.

At first glance it just looks way too easy on UConn which almost always seems like a trap. I just cant see NC St matching up inside, and with Uconns point guard stepping up late I just dont see how NC St beats them, especially in Worcester.

stay away unless you follow these teams closely. Line obviously appealing due to the big name of UConn, the defending champs to boot.

I've watched Uconn play a few times this year and the one negative I can say is they love to turn the ball over...

NC State has closed the season very well. They also knocked off a very dangerous Charlotte squad. In the later rounds guards are so important, when all of the dregs are eliminated. No doubt UConn has the inside presence, but NC State has the backcourt advantage. For the former champ to be laying small, opened at 3 1/2, and then get bet down to 3, that should set off the trap alarm. Not impressed with top big East teams. Actually not impressed with big East at all. I bought a 4 for the 1/2 at Sky and took the rest 3 1/2. Another factor is seeding. Very dangerous 10-12 seeds in second round, especially with a talented backcourt. Game similar to Wisc/Milw vs. big East loser BC.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

I think the first line in your own post told the story...when the dogs are barking buying hush puppies does not work, former champ or not. Big East chokes again, not just not covering but getting upset. UOP/Pitt, Wisc/Milw/BC and now UConn. What was UConn ATS record again?

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

If you want to chase, take a long look at Bucknell.:toast:
