I see UCLA now at -1.5 - if I can get this # tomorrow I think I'll take it.

UCLA coming off a good showing at home beating the oregons

and Washington State is coming home with a big head (after finally ending their PAC 10 road losing streak beating CAL by 5).

I think its too early for UCLA to get any credit in a pointspread but they have stood up to some good tests hanging with Kentucky, and Michigan (@michigan) and beating Michigan State...

Opinions anyone?

Also like Stanford to roll over the -5.5 at Arizona State, and USC to hang within the +4 at Washington.

Constructive criticizm anyone?

I hate all 3 of year plays. Pullman is tough place to go. Stanford will be looking forward to Arizona. USC will get blown out of the gym.

Railbird I completely disagree. ASU is the Ike Diogu machine and teams in the Pac10 get sick and tired of hearing about him, trust me I went to UofA. Not to mention ASU is as one-dimensional as a team could possibly get, you shut Diogu down and you shut them down.

Although they do have some guy playing his first game tonight who looks to provide some much needed inside help for Diogu. But I think he pans out later in the season, not tonight in his first game back against the class of the Pac10.

Stanford -6 ??? Too good to pass up.

UCLA has won 12 straight against Washington State, at -1 I think riding that out is a good bet.

Good luck, I'm with it.

UCLA is still very inconsistent, and Stanford will be looking ahead to Arizona. Just a couple things to think about.

hey dolphins fan - since you went to UofA do you always go against ASU?

Just wondering where the advice is coming from...

I like it though - it feeds right into what I am thinking. I'm leaning towards taking stanford here but I have been burned by ASU in the past. I suppose the question is are they as good as they were last year?

Well let's just state some facts. Last year they played pretty closely with Stanford winning by 11 in Stanford and then pulling one out by a point in Tempe. Let's fast forward to this year..... Stanford (11-2 overall, 8-2 ATS, 2-0 Away ATS) is taking on ASU (7-4 overall, 1-8 ATS, 1-6 Home ATS).

Stanford is the class of the Pac10 by far and away. I've been watching ASU closely this season and they have regressed tremendously thus far. Like I said, they're one trick ponies and UofA exposed all their flaws last game. I knew UofA was going to win that game, but c'mon they murdered them (in a heated rivalry game no-less!!) and Stanford is a better team right now then UofA.

That whole "looking forward to UofA thing"???? Nuh huh.....that's UofA's job and they always seem to perform that way. I'm serious, they'll play down to Cal tonight, but Stanford will have their way with ASU. It'll be interesting to see whether this new forward they have going does anything to help Diogu, but he can't carry the team by himself and there's definately nobody around him helping.

EDIT: The guy returning is Serge Angounou..... he's from Cameroon. He dislocated his knee at the very beginning of last season and hasn't seen a minute of action since. Sounds like pre-injury he might have been a vital cog, but it'll take a guy a long time to come back from an injury like that.
The only game I've bet on with ASU playing in it was San Diego @ ASU .....I had ASU as the 15pt fav and they won by 19 <-----keep in mind their lone cover all year. Don't overthink yourself on this pick man, -6 is a dream. When I was on austinsportsbar last night I saw it at -16 (contrary to yahoo's -6)and thought ok, maybe that's more like it. Then this morning my father saw it at -6. I'm on it.

Salim Stoudamire on their game with ASU:
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>"Our goal is to blow out teams we should blow out," Wildcats guard Salim Stoudamire said.

Was this one of them?

"Yup."

inconsistent?

They lost by 1 point to UCSB... That is the worst thing that you can say about them.

The other losses were to Kentucky and @Michigan.

So they had a 1 pt letdown loss...

Washington State has lost to rice by 15, Southern Utah by 15, and in a loss to fresno was held to 29pts.

I'll take my chances - the numbers look too good in favor of UCLA. Now it could be too good to be true, but still good enough for me to bite.

Sorry UCLA only beat Vermont one point and Loyola Marymount by three in OT.

So that's where you are coming from saying they are inconsistent.

Still a win is a win and they won both of those.

The fact is they have 3 losses this year and one that they should have won.

not too shabby.

ok dolphins fan

you've played me for a sucker

I took stanford but bought 3 points to -170

unfortunately I could only get -6.5 so they now gotta win by 4 (but I think a push when you buy points might lose anyway)

if I lose this bet you are GOING DOWN...

just kidding

UCLA is a solid play. FYI - The game is being played in Spokane to attract something resembling a crowd, not Pullman (school is still out of session at WSU). Also, for whatever it's worth, UCLA has won 21 in a row againt Washington State.

LOL Jaypaw......

Anyone one of these games anyone one of us could be wrong on.....that's betting for ya! But if you're gonna bet, you gotta bet confidently or don't bet at all. Stanford is my confident pick.

Jaypaw, those were the games I was referring to, along with the Oregon St. game which they would have lost if Ariza hadn't stepped up big time. They seem to play to the level of competition and even though I respect Howland as a coach, I don't think he really likes several of the players on this team.
