It is just about impossible to toss a topic around like this without pointing a finger at Pakistan. If Pakistan did not provide refuge for the Taliban then it would be possible to defeat the Taliban on their own turf once and for all. Pakistan's involvement has enabled the Taliban to make this war linger on. Hell, the muslims have been fighting with each other since the death of Muhammad centuries ago. This little 10 year war is nothing in war years for these people. I do not believe that all is fair in love and war but we can't even play a Superbowl without people making excuses, blaming this player or that, and trying to diminish the winner. Although we have military might we are the new kids on the block. Once 9-11 occured all bets are off. I am not saying that is justification for these tactics, but sometimes in war, you gotta fight these people on their own terms especially when you are on their turf.

and there it is...the type of fearmongering that must be present to justify why we're killing civilians of an ally who, to my knowledge, has never invaded another country since they've existed. Of course more than likely these dead kids would have ended up living fairly normal lives and disliking Indians a whole lot more than Americans. But, there's always that 1 in a million chance right (or 5 million, or 10 million, or likely 100 million)? so, bombs away!
btw, why the hell WOULDN'T muslims think we're evil? We've invaded several of their countries, killed many thousands of their civilians, many more thousands of their soldiers, and now routinely bomb folks that shake our hands as allies.
