I walked in the hospital with pain in my upper right arm and jaw

two days later I had quadruple bypass surgery

two years later I'm better than I've been in two decades (at least in theory)

while in the ICU, I had to turn off the tournament games on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. I was getting too excited (I slept through Saturday's games) :)

talk about a bad April fools joke

let's go Ducks

You survived the widow maker, congratulations. Gotta stay on course and follow orders, no matter how well you feel, the widow maker is always ready to make another appearance.

Good luck and stay healthy

I wasn't stressed at all during my heart attack, all my vitals were fine at the emergency room, but I listened to a couple of odd sensations in my body because I've read about so many accountants having heart attacks during tax season

I passed every physical, slightly high cholesterol (200), passed every EKG, yet I had 5 arteries 90% blocked (they left a small one)

I have no heart damage, no artificial parts, no dietary restrictions and only take 2 pills per day. I'm supposed to lose weight (not doing that well) , my cholesterol is now 113.

I am a lucky man

Any diet changes since?

I drink a lot less, even though my surgeon said a scotch or two a night won't hurt. I don't party anymore. I don't use sugar, I don't apply salt to anything and I eat a little healthier. Oatmeal for breakfast, more vegetables and less starches and more fruit for snacks.

But I haven't given up anything I really love.

I think living life without filters fucked me up, so I slowed down a little.

none of my vitals are an issue, nor have they ever been an issue, but I obviously did something to clog my arteries

Willie I had bypass surgery 14 years ago at the age of 45. Had a stent put in 4 years ago and 3 stents put in about a month ago. I'm blessed with family genetics to pretty much guarantee I will live with it my whole life. I'm happy to be alive and still able to watch North Carolina miss 4 consecutive free throws at the end of the game to make my over bet a push.
:ohno: Stay well.

Wow, time flies Willie.

My dad had a quadruple bypass almost 20 years ago. He's still doing well and even doing some consulting part time in his old age.

Glad to hear you've made a few changes to your diet. That really should keep you out of the woods.

Here's to many more years of good health.

cheersgif
