HOME TEAM IN CAPS
All games include OT unless stated otherwise
TORONTO –½ +1.34 over Carolina
These two met on Sunday at the RBC Center and the Canes came away with a 6-4 victory. Thing is, the Leafs were the better team and it wasn’t close and chances are huge that they’ll be the better team again tonight. They lost because Curtis Joseph was in net and you can wager the mortgage that CuJo won’t make it to the end of the year in a Leafs uniform. He’s slow, washed up and plays on his knees. Anyway, it’ll be Vesa Toskala back between the pipes and that’s good news for Leafs backers. The Canes are an extremely beatable team with a defense that can be pressured into coughing up the puck. Besides, no team in the NHL is playing with more determination then Toronto and from the opening face-off to the final whistle this edition of the Leafs does not let up for a second. They’ve been downright dominating in most of their games this season and until I see something different from them I will gladly lay a half puck against a weak and vulnerable defensive team like the one they'll see here. Play: Toronto -½ +1.34 (Risking 2 units). [/B]
CALGARY -½ -1.05 over Phoenix
The Flames are rolling right now and that should be a surprise to nobody, as this host is loaded with talent. They got off to a rough start because Kiprusoff was way off his game but that's now a thing of the past. Kiprusoff is playing great once again and in fact, he's only allowed 15 goals against in the past eight games. Incidentally, Calgary has won seven of those eight contests. They Coyotes have just one road win in four tries and it came against the Ducks in their second game of the year. They've now lost five of their last seven with only wins coming against the Caps and a banged up Penguin squad. On Oct 25th the Flames went into Phoenix and punished the Coyoyes 4-1 and outshot them 36-24. The venue now switches but the outcome should absolutely remain the same. Play: Calgary -½ -1.05 (Risking 2.10 units to win 2).
I’m also adding Washington +1.05 over Ottawa.
Ovie back, Sens return home from trip….
