RECORD YTD 32-18 (.640)
SIDES 22-11 (.666)
TOTALS 10-7 (.588)

Memphis cashed a ticket here on MLK day in front of a national audience.

Rick Carlisle FIRED from the Detroit Pistons last year, has a chance to continue his payback against his old employer. I say continue because his players have already avenged their coaches honor twice this season and now they have a chance to put the cherry on the cake by ending the Pistons 13 game win streak. What a sweet payback on the people that fired you.

Comments from Billups in the Detroit press

"Right now they're the top team in the East, and that's something we feel we should have," Billups said. "They've beaten us twice, and we feel like we can play with them."

Sounds like Billups is conceding that Indy is the better team and he feels that Detroit can at least play with them.

Atkins chimes in:

"We end up going against our old coach for No. 14, which is a good thing for us. We haven't beaten them all year. They're trying to fight us from getting the record of 14 in a row against them. They were in a situation last year with Dallas coming to them and Dallas had won 13 in a row (actually 14), and they popped them.(Indy beat them by 12) So we have to be ready to compete for 48 minutes and play hard."

If Detroit can beat San Antonio and cover against INDY on backtoback nights it will be impressive. Here is a vote on it not happening

INDY-4

On it with you Occam. I also have >168.5 in this game. Good D on both sides but both teams are motivated for a shootout.

I am guning for you Occam but games like these I stay away from. They are too close to call with Indiana and Detroit so evenly matched.

Dominating performance by the Pacers. Even though I talked about the Carlisle revenge factor, this bet came down to the probability of Detroit beating San Ant and Indy on a backtoback. If Detroit could have pulled it off, I would have made a future bet on Detroit to win it all this year. Win streak ends at Lucky 13 for Detroit.
