Northfield: Tuesday 6/10 Analysis + Pick Four ticket
By Jeremey Day
DRF HARNESS

Race 8 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Jeremey’s $1 Pick Four Ticket:

5,6 / 1,6 / 1,2 / 1,3,5,9 = $32

Best Bet: CJ’S SUPER SECRET (12th)

Spot Play: EASTER BAY (6th)

Race 1

(3) CLAYTON MORRIS three-year-old makes his second career start off a decent first effort. The pacer finds a suspect bunch and should improve. (5) SOAKING UP THE SUN gelding has a lot of ability and a big closing burst; fires late. (1) GLIDED TOWARDS ME has some positives including the rail and second time out in a new barn.

Race 2

(6) MR ABERDEEN gets a huge driver change in a weak field. (8) SMOKE'N STOMRS will offer a big price and could hit the ticket with some racing luck; use underneath. (1) NORTH PARCC should get a decent trip up close to the pace but has yet to show any pop late.

Race 3

In a tough race to handicap (9) TRIPLE G is winless on the year and comes off a few miscues which should boost the price. If the 7-year-old can stay trotting he's got a chance. (5) MOM'S LOOKER picks up the top driver in an inconsistent field; threat. (1) ROSE RUN NEMO stayed flat last out and benefits from the best post.

Race 4

(6) BET ON BLUE filly has some upside in a field full of question marks. The 3-year-old makes her second start and looks to have some ability. (8) UNLIMITED WINNER trotting-bred pacer showed a good burst of speed in the qualifier but needs a smooth trip. (9) ACTION AUBREE ROSA has proven connections and raced better last start.

Race 5

(2) FOLLOW A DREAM looks to make it three straight and will be very tough to catch; short price. (6) UNADORNED HANOVER has been making progress despite the miscue last out. The 3-year-old put in a big effort after taking up. (1) WHERE U WAS JAY bumps up in class off two straight victories but would need much more.

Race 6

(5) EASTER BAY adds lasix for the second time, gets a good driver change, and should offer a fair price. (6) FEATURE MATCHUP has flashed some ability and keeps the top driver. (2) HEARTACHE'S BLUES has some room to improve for a new barn and has been facing better.

Race 7

(3) CONTECH gets a huge driver change in a suspect field. The trotter has gone some fast miles in the past and could offer the better value. (1) TYRANY SEELSTER drops in class, gets the best post, and faces much weaker. (2) PERFECT HEART BEAT comes off two very dull efforts but does have four wins on the year; command a price.

Race 8

(6) JULIE'S DAVINCHIE three-year-old colt has been racing gamely in his last two. The pacer has to overcome the pilot but would have a chance forwardly placed. (5) COLOR PALETTE K filly is 0 for her career but has been competitive at this level. (3) OIL SLICKER picks up a significant driver change and could just be rounding into form off a two year layoff.

Race 9

(1) CIRO has just been racing evenly but does find a softer spot. (6) HARD TO ROCK THIS filly appears to be the best trotter in the race but will be further back than his last two. (9) MY JUSTICE mare couldn't parlay a perfect trip last start and won't get to use her gate speed with the second tier; use underneath.

Race 10

(2) CHAMP IAN went a huge three quarters of a mile for a horse that's only won one time in thirty-six plus starts. If the pacer can duplicate that effort it's probably good enough. (1) FLYING METRO is tough to gauge making his third start for new connections but benefits from the rail. (6) MAJOR AT HEART was terrible in his two starts at this track this year and looks to offer low value.

Race 11

In a wide open and tough race to handicap (5) LITTLE BIT SIDEWAYS should offer a huge price considering the pacer is 0 for sixteen on the year, however he has flashed a big burst of speed at times and finds a weak and inconsistent field. (9) BEACH CRISIS was a new horse last out second start for a new trainer and would hit the board with a similar effort. (3) SKEDADDLE HANOVER has also shown a big burst of speed but is handicapped by the driver; threat.

Race 12

(2) CJ'S SUPER SECRET takes a big drop in class and has been trotting much faster than most of the field. (4) BABY'S CHUMP CHANGE parlayed a perfect trip last out and has some tactical gate speed that the trotter could benefit from. (6) MISS RILEY mare is consistently inconsistent just like most of the trainer's horses but can go some good miles from time to time.

Race 13

(6) OH WHATA GUY needs an early battle up front for his best chance and could be the major danger late at a price. (1) SOUTHWIND MAIZE comes off a decent effort and should be closer turning for home against this group. (2) R MASTER SCOTT rarely wins and would need an ideal setup to hit the top spot; use underneath.

Race 14

(8) BROTHER BUD looked to be a winner before the break last start. The pacer popped out of the eight hole for his only win last year and finds a weak field to try and do it at a price. (6) MONTOYA HANOVER the driver rarely wins but his horses have been improving. (3) BOBBYS ON THE MOVE morning line favorite has just been racing evenly; command a price.

Race 15

(1) I RECKON SO does some of his best racing from on the lead and might get to do just that. (3) COAL BURNER was butchered last out by the driver pulling pocket on the co-favorite before fading out of it. Look for the driver to give the pacer a much smoother trip; big chance. (9) SHOCKBYELECTRIC doesn't win often but does have a big move if timed right.

Mohawk: Tuesday 6/10 Analysis
By Greg Gangle
DRF HARNESS

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: PL HOOFHEARTED (1st)

Spot Play: BURNIN MONEY (9th)

Race 1

(6) P L HOOFHEARTED has won two of three since arriving in the Coleman barn, including an impressive open-length victory in his latest. (8) SHADOWBRIAND comes out of the Darling barn and hasn't missed the board in all five starts this season. (2) STEADY WARRIOR draws inside and lit up the toteboard in his most recent outing on this circuit at 89-1.

Race 2

(6) BWT TAJ has won three of his last four starts since arriving in the Auciello barn and was a close second last week. (7) SAMIRA HANOVER's winning streak came to an end last week following a third-place finish. She remains at this same class, enjoys being put into the race and is a top candidate once again. (4) ROLLS BLUE CHIP hasn't found his best stride yet in three starts this season, but he's due for a big effort. He comes out of a top trotting barn, finally draws inside and Moiseyev will make the most of his chances.

Race 3

(8) EXCUSE ME PLEASE has won two of his last three starts and remains at this level. Mayotte and Cherwaiko has enjoyed success with this son of Yankee Glide and have been classifying him accordingly. (6) DESIGNER GENES closed very well last week to finish third and finally draws well. (2) HES A DEMON showed a much improved effort last week in the debut for new trainer McIntyre.

Race 4

(10) DANA DEAREST has won each of her three pari-mutuel starts this season and is capable of overcoming post 10 in this contest. (7) FRAME WORTHY is one-for-one to start the season and did so parked the entire mile. That was a gritty effort on her behalf and she can only improve in her second start of the season. (6) BROOKDALE SHADOW comes out of the Moore barn and is fresh off a winning effort in a new career best.

Race 5

(1) SCARY MAGIC comes out of the Norman barn, gets the rail and won two back on this circuit. (5) AGGRESSIVE draws well and has been racing very consistently in each of his last three starts. (9) SERENDIPITIOUS comes out of the SBOA final and faces a much easier group. She comes out of Jamieson's barn and will need to mind her manners.

Race 6

(7) COMPANY MAN hasn't been worse than second in each of his five starts this season and closed very well last week to finish second as the favourite. (4) MAJOR DEAGAN is fresh off a win and has posted back-to-back sub-:28 final quarters. He draws well once again, gets Christoforou in the bike and is very capable of the class jump. (8) SWISS BANK HANOVER has terrific gate-speed, which may be applied from an outside post and has a license to improve even more in here.

Race 7

(5) INTIMIDATE hasn't found the winner's circle yet from three starts this season, but has been trotting very quick miles and should appreciate a much easier field to his liking. (8) SLIP INTO GLIDE has won two of his last three and four of his last five all in this class. (9) MEGO MOSS has hit the board in 10 of 16 starts this season and has a quick turn of foot when the gate unfolds.

Race 8

(3) CHARMBO WILLIE has a terrific overall record this season and will make his second start for capable trainer Nixon. (8) FIRST IMPRESSION tends to race very inconsistently, but he drops in class to this bottom level and looms as a threat. (7) THE BIG BITE put forth a credible effort in his return last week.

Race 9

(6) BURNIN MONEY is my upset play of the night. He was trotting home very strong in his latest effort as he was charted over seven-lengths back at three-quarters to be beaten two-lengths for the win. (8) CATCH THE DREAM has hit the board in each of his last two starts and got interfered with in his latest. (7) HLDONTGHTTOYURDRMS may be the post time favourite when the gate unfolds, but he hasn't been at his best in recent weeks.

Race 10

(3) PORSCHE SEELSTER finished fourth in the $159K SBOA final in just her first start of the season. She was individually timed in 1:53 2/5 and can only improve this week. (6) POLK DOT HANOVER has been knocking on the door at this level in her last three starts and is due for a win. (9) BORN TO DREAM comes out of the O'Sullivan barn and has hit the board in two of her last three starts at this level.

KEY STAT: Helder Postiga scored six goals for Portugal in World Cup qualifying

EXPERT VERDICT: Ireland did well to hold Italy in a recent friendly, but they are a limited side and Portugal should possess too much firepower for them. Paulo Bento’s men will be looking to get their eye in before a tough first World Cup match against Germany, so a professional performance looks likely.

RECOMMENDATION: Portugal

KEY STAT: Brazil have won their first match at the last eight World Cups

EXPERT VERDICT: Brazil should kick off the tournament with a win although it might not be straightforward against a decent Croatia side. Nothing less than World Cup glory will appease the home fans but they may have to show some patience in the opening game because Croatia possess plenty of talent and are strong candidates to reach the last 16.

RECOMMENDATION: Brazil 2-1

KEY STAT: Mexico won just two of their ten matches in the final Concacaf qualification group

EXPERT VERDICT: Qualification from the group stage looks like being a tough challenge for Mexico and Cameroon and neither are likely to gain the upper hand in their match in Natal. Mexico struggled to come through a weak qualifying section and lack star quality, while Cameroon have won just one World Cup finals match since reaching the last eight in 1990.

KEY STAT: Spain have lost just one of their last 36 competitive matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Spain have won the last three major tournaments and can remind everyone of their quality by sweeping aside Holland in their Group B opener. Vicente Del Bosque's side everything in place to go all the way and look far superior to the Dutch, who have regressed since reaching the final in 2010.

KEY STAT: Australia have failed to score in six of their ten World Cup fixtures

EXPERT VERDICT: Australia look one of the weaker teams in Brazil and could be outclassed by Chile in Cuiaba. The Socceroos have been handed a nightmare draw, starting with a daunting task against the Chileans, who are collectively and individually strong and will be better suited to the conditions.

RECOMMENDATION: Chile

KEY STAT: Greece have failed to score in five of their six World Cup matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Radamel Falcao has been ruled out but even without their star striker, Colombia should have too much quality for Greece in their opening game. Los Cafeteros were second in South American qualifying – only two points behind Argentina – and should have few problems against the defensive-minded opponents.

RECOMMENDATION: Colombia

Parx Racing Race 4 for Tuesday, June 10, 2014
Handicapped by The Turf Club Analysts

Parx Racing - Race #4 - Post: 1:46pm - Claiming - 7.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $22,000 Class Rating: 70

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#2 EARLY EJECTION (ML=6/1)
#8 SLIPPINGONOUTTHERE (ML=3/1)

EARLY EJECTION - When a sprinter is back in a race less than 10 days after her last outing, it generally means she's fit. Widely used angle - 3rd or 4th start after a vacation generally leads to a big effort. This one is live today. This filly notched a good speed fig of 64 in her last contest. That fig should be strong enough to win this time out. SLIPPINGONOUTTHERE - I think the shorter trip will help this filly stay the trip. Looking at today's class figure, this pony is up against an easier group than last time out at Monmouth. Linder gets a break on this racer carrying 5 pounds less than last out. Could be helpful in this field.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 STREET STUFF (ML=5/2), #4 SARATOGA FIELDS (ML=4/1), #5 POWER'S CUPCAKE (ML=8/1),

STREET STUFF - This filly hasn't had any recent good results in sprint races. Not easy to wager on her in this race. Finished first in her most recent performance with a mediocre speed rating. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to prove victorious after that in this group. SARATOGA FIELDS - A bit of a lackluster try when this filly finished third. POWER'S CUPCAKE - Hard to keep stabbing at this kind of 'bridesmaid' horse.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Play #2 EARLY EJECTION to win if you can get odds of 8/5 or more

#4 INDIAN EMPIRE (ML=4/1)
#6 LAILA DUNDEE (ML=8/1)

INDIAN EMPIRE - This horse coming off a solid race in the last month is a contender in my book. LAILA DUNDEE - When a thoroughbred drops at least five pounds (like this one is), you must take notice. It may not seem like much, but certainly could make the difference.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 FAST EL TIGRE (ML=5/2), #5 TRULY AMAZING (ML=3/1), #3 SUPREMACY (ML=7/2),

FAST EL TIGRE - Ran a great speed rating in the last race, but the effort will probably take too much out of him. TRULY AMAZING - Most likely won't make much of a mark in today's event. SUPREMACY - This steed will probably need at least one more race after the lackluster showing following the long breather. Hasn't hit the board in any short distance races recently. Not likely to see him doing it this time around either.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Putting our cash on #4 INDIAN EMPIRE to win. Have to have odds of at least 3/2 or better though

RECOMMENDED CHOICES
The Walker Group Picks

# 1 MISS MONTAUK 4/1

# 8 SHES GOT TO RUN 3/1

# 7 REBECCA'S WILDCAT 5/1

MISS MONTAUK looks to be a very strong contender. Garnered a very good speed fig last time out. Ought to be given consideration here on the basis of the numbers in the speed department alone. This mare obviously likes the distance, going 4 out of 7 in her races lately. SHES GOT TO RUN - Has to be considered against this group of animals displaying very good figs lately and an average speed rating of 80 under similar conditions. This conditioner has done quite well lately with entries racing at this distance and surface. REBECCA'S WILDCAT - Has run very well when racing a dirt sprint race.

The Walker Group Picks

# 7 BOTTLEOFREDORWHITE 3/1

# 3 CAMP FLOYD 4/1

# 9 THAT'S EPIC 5/2

BOTTLEOFREDORWHITE looks to be a very strong contender. Has competitive speed figures and has to be considered for a wager for this race. This gelding has a good win percent in dirt sprint races. Will almost certainly come out sharp - I have liked the way this gelding has moved promptly to the lead recently. CAMP FLOYD - With a strong 81 speed rating last time out, will clearly be a factor in this contest. Risk takers get an edge when playing this conditioner in a dirt sprint race. THAT'S EPIC - Well above average win clip at this distance/surface. Should compete admirably in the early speed contest which bodes well with this field.

# 2 DAMSEL IN A DRESS 2/1

Look no further than RACHELLE'S BEAT as the bet today. A great class horse should not be be missed. With an avg class figure of 81 all signs point to yes. You have to like a horse that likes to win, very impressive win figure. The 4 hole sports a well above average win percentage at Harrington Raceway. WHIRL THE GIRL - She's running in good form, recording very strong TrackMaster Speed Ratings. An excellent choice. DAMSEL IN A DRESS - Overall percentages look really strong. Can't throw her out of the picture. Many race players know speed is is such an important factor. This nice horse has credentials with a 79 avg ranking.
