KEY STAT: Liverpool have scored no more than once in seven of their last eight matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Liverpool have seen their top-four chances recede after one win from their last four league games and any lingering hope would disappear with a defeat at the KC. Hull played with lots of intensity in a well-deserved 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday and will be eager to take another big step towards safety.

RECOMMENDATION: Hull

KEY STAT: Eight of Chelsea’s last ten domestic games have featured under 2.5 goals

EXPERT VERDICT: Chelsea were happy to draw 0-0 at Arsenal on Sunday and could be involved in another stalemate at the King Power Stadium. Leicester are out of the bottom three for the first time since the start of November and chasing a fifth successive win, although manager Nigel Pearson would gratefully accept a draw against the champions-elect.

RECOMMENDATION: Draw

KEY STAT: Barca have had 26 wins to nil in all competitions

EXPERT VERDICT: Getafe are the proud owners of a 0-0 home draw against Barcelona this season, but at the Camp Nou you sense there’s only one outcome. Barca have won six in a row on home soil and are in sparkling form ahead of their date with Bayern Munich. Getafe have only scored four in their last seven matches.

RECOMMENDATION: Barcelona to win 4-0

KEY STAT: Bayern have won 19 of their 21 home matches this season

EXPERT VERDICT: Jurgen Klopp’s last Klassiker - at least for the time being - is a huge game for him personally but the gap continues to increase between his Borussia Dortmund side and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. Bayern are miles clear of the field in Germany and a domestic double looks a strong possibility.

RECOMMENDATION: Bayern Munich

KEY STAT: Udinese have won three of their last 19 matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Udinese don't create enough chances and average just 3.2 shots on target per game, which is in line with teams in the relegation zone. Gary Medel's return beefs up Inter defensively but while their pursuit of a European spot has been dogged by inconsistency, Udinese's difficulties finding the net makes the visitors a shade of value.

RECOMMENDATION: Inter

KEY STAT: Metz have scored four away league goals this season

EXPERT VERDICT: A point takes Paris St-Germain back to the top of Ligue 1 with this their game in hand on Lyon and they should be able to win comfortably. PSG have conceded in their last nine matches with sloppy mistakes costing Laurent Blanc’s side, but powder-puff Metz are likely to be outclassed.

RECOMMENDATION: PSG to win 3-0

# 5 REAL INDEPENDENT 3/1

We've got a feeling BOJENNGLES IVY is going to get the trip to the winner's circle. Loved this gelding's last race. Ran a big 64 speed figure. Major player. E V SHOOTER - Pace figures show this standardbred has what it takes to score for this one. Can't miss based on speed figs which have been excellent (61 avg) recently. REAL INDEPENDENT - The number crunching team will always toss in a race horse from the 5 hole here at Hoosier Park, definite exotic possibilities. Heads into this competition with competitive TrackMaster class stats as compared to the field of horses - take a good look.

# 5 TALLDARKNHANDSOME 5/2

# 6 THREESTEPSTOHEAVEN 7/2

# 1 WIZARD OF ART 3/1

TALLDARKNHANDSOME looks nice to best this bunch. Take a look at this standardbred's avg speed figure of 85 and compare to today's class rating. Looks like a very good wager. Had one of the best TrackMaster Speed Ratings of the group of horses in his last race. Must use in your bets. The handicapping group happens to know that when you put Aldrich and Gill together great results frequently occur. THREESTEPSTOHEAVEN - Could very well provide us a triumph based on nice recent speed figures - earning an average of 87. This nice horse looks dangerous considering the high class stats. Don't throw out of any exotics. WIZARD OF ART - Loved this gelding's last race. Ran a solid 78 TrackMaster Speed Rating. Major contender. Starters win from this post at Monticello Raceway with better than average regularity, suggesting this tremendous wager.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 4 MY DREAM IS WILD 7/2

# 8 ANDY PO PO 9/5

# 9 UNBRIDLED GLOW 3/1

MY DREAM IS WILD is my choice. Shows signs of the look of a money-making play, averaging a solid 52 Equibase Speed Figure which is one of the best in this group. Will most likely come out very strong - I have liked the way this gelding has moved speedily to the lead recently. Is a definite contender - given the 59 speed figure from his most recent race. ANDY PO PO - This handler has done solidly lately with entries running at this distance and surface. Has solid early pace and will almost certainly fare strongly versus this field. UNBRIDLED GLOW - Has been racing admirably and has among the most competitive speed in the race for today's distance. With a competitive 61 speed figure last time out, will clearly be a factor in this race.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 6 FULL OF SASS 12/1

# 8 GIANT CAT TALE 9/5

# 9 STAY READY 5/1

FULL OF SASS looks like the bet in here and is a strong value bet given the line at 12/1. Shows signs of the look of a profitable play, averaging a solid 77 Equibase speed fig which is one of the strongest in this field. Medina has an excellent return on investment over the past month (+51) which should help players with this pick. With Medina on top her, this mare ought to be able to break out sharply in here. GIANT CAT TALE - McNeil has been on fire the last month, winning at a nifty 34 percent rate. Posted a solid Equibase Speed Fig in the last race. Can run another good one in this race.

#3 THIS QUAY HOME (ML=9/2)
#2 LEGOMYBORREGO (ML=7/2)
#4 WILD ORATION (ML=3/1)

THIS QUAY HOME - Bisono and DiMauro perform well when they team up. It's hard to beat a +97 return on investment for a jock and trainer. Likes to go to the lead and the fact that today is a shorter distance should help. LEGOMYBORREGO - Nice winning percent this jockey and trainer twosome have been putting together. WILD ORATION - Vera brings her right back. I recommend you stick with this hot mare.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 STARSHIP GIRL (ML=2/1), #6 STAR MAGNOLIA (ML=5/1), #1 BIG VARIETY (ML=8/1),

STARSHIP GIRL - The effort in the last race on April 14th probably won't hold up against tougher competition when they turn for home. Pace makes the race and an absence of pace means this come from behinder will have to rally without any help. STAR MAGNOLIA - You have to be concerned that this runner added front bandages last time out. Not likely that the speed rating she garnered on Mar 29th will hold up in this race. BIG VARIETY - Improbable that the speed figure she earned on Apr 11th will be good enough in this affair.

#4 DEHERE IS GONE (ML=6/1)
#8 ADRIATIC MOON (ML=9/2)
#6 HARLAN'S VITESSE (ML=7/2)

DEHERE IS GONE - Have to give this horse a chance. Ran a solid effort in the last race within the last month. It looks like Hernandez had to know this horse on Apr 13th when riding him for the initial time. Back atop again today. Look at this pattern of improvement. 78/84/89 are the last three Equibase speed figures. Last ran at Turf Paradise and finished fourth. Reviewing his PP lines, I see he was close at the finish line, within five of the winner. ADRIATIC MOON - I just may give this one a chance. Should improve off last race where he did run out of the money, but was within 5 lengths at the end. This animal is in the top spot in earnings per race. He looks nice in today's event. HARLAN'S VITESSE - This gelding is in fine form, having run a nice race on Apr 13th, finishing second. Just look at his recent speed rating, 92. That one looks good in this field.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 WORLD FAMOUS SAM T (ML=3/1), #3 HOLLYWOOD HITMAN (ML=5/1), #5 DA BOSS (ML=5/1),

WORLD FAMOUS SAM T - Hasn't been on the Turf Paradise oval in the last 3 weeks. Cause for some concern. HOLLYWOOD HITMAN - The fifth place finish position in the last event was not the greatest. DA BOSS - This gelding is always in the money, but just doesn't finish on top. Hard to play him on the win end.

Wild ready for rematch with Blackhawks

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Wild were flailing in mid-January, badly needing a boost in the net when Devan Dubnyk arrived just in time.

The lanky goalie still has a lot more big saves to make this spring.

''That's what we're hoping for here,'' coach Mike Yeo said, ''and I think there's more to this story.''

The next chapter will start in Chicago.

Zach Parise scored twice, including a short-handed, highlight-reel goal to get Minnesota going in the first period, and the Wild beat the St. Louis Blues 4-1 on Sunday in Game 6 of the first-round series to advance to the Western Conference semifinals for a rematch with the Blackhawks.

''I was thinking about it over the last couple days. It just feels right,'' said Dubnyk, who made 30 saves. ''It feels right for our group to be where we are and to continue to move forward. That's why it's easy to go out and play and feel like we're going to win, because we've done it all year.''

Dubnyk made 66 saves over the last two games, resolutely responding to the 6-1 defeat here on Wednesday that let the Blues tie the series. The Wild outscored the Blues 8-2 after that, despite being outshot 68-40.

The building was buzzing from the start, befitting of the occasion to see the Wild celebrate a postseason advancement at home for the first time. The Wild won three of their previous nine playoff series, all with Game 7 victories on the road. The crowd serenaded Dubnyk at every opportunity, with that catching ''Duuuuub!'' cheer.

''There was a play in the third period where they got forecheck pressure, and he kind of hangs on to the puck and shows some unreal composure,'' Yeo said, adding: ''When your goalie's playing confident, when the heat is on, I think that the rest of the group feeds off that.''

Parise's relentless play was contagious, too.

''I try to be a lead-by-example type of guy,'' said Parise, who tied for the franchise postseason lead with 22 points in 24 games, five fewer than Marian Gaborik played in.

The Wild were killing an early penalty when Parise snagged a loose puck in the neutral zone, raced away from Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk and triggered a huge roar from the crowd with that bad-angle shot that slipped between goalie Jake Allen's right arm and the near post into the far side of the net.

''I was a little too aggressive on it. I should have just let him stay to the outside and take the middle away,'' said Shattenkirk, who leads the NHL with eight assists this postseason. ''That was a tough one to swallow, especially that early.''

Allen was disheartened afterward.

''Two terrible goals again. I just let us down,'' said Allen, who made 11 saves.

Justin Fontaine also scored for the Wild, prompting Blues coach Ken Hitchcock to pull Allen for Brian Elliott with 8:41 left in the second period. T.J. Oshie's first goal of the series came with 4 seconds left before the second intermission to spark the Blues, who outshot the Wild 27-11 over the last two periods.

Parise's next goal came on a rebound of Jason Pominville's attempt early in the third, though, and Dubnyk and the Wild were in lockdown mode after that. Nino Niederreiter added an empty-net goal, steering the Blues toward their third straight first-round ouster.

Dubnyk made a big save soon after the St. Louis change when Chris Porter crashed the net on his shot from the slot. The puck was dislodged during the scrum in the crease but after the whistle, and a replay review upheld the no-goal call. Porter was so upset on the bench afterward, he was caught on camera snapping the blade off his stick.

Only one of the six games in the series was decided by less than three goals, a 4-2 win by the Wild in Game 1, and the average margin was 3.2.

''Closing out a series is always hard. You obviously expect the opposition to bring a great game, and they did that,'' Parise said.

The Blackhawks, who beat Nashville in six games to move on, knocked the Wild out in six games in the second round last year and in five games in the first round the year before that. The Blues are used to this. This was their 10th straight postseason loss when facing elimination.

The Central Division champions could experience some turnover this summer, and Hitchcock's job might not be immune to the changes.

''Hitch has been the reason why we've been here for four years. He's hard on us, but he does it because he knows the right way and how to get to this position,'' Shattenkirk said. ''You can never take that away from the way he coaches. He coaches fundamentals. It's something we needed, and we were able to get here because of him.''

Crawford gets start in goal vs. Wild
The Sports Xchange

Chicago goalie Corey Crawford will be back in net when the Blackhawks face the Minnesota Wild in the teams' Central Division Championship series later this week.

Crawford relieved Scott Darling in Game 6 against Nashville and sparked the Blackhawks as they clinched their first-round playoff series against the Predators.

Darling had started four of six games against Nashville.

In his last start, Crawford gave up six goals to the Predators in Game 2 of their series.

Preview: Spurs (55-27) at Clippers (56-26)

Date: April 28, 2015 10:30 PM EDT

If Gregg Popovich has a recipe for the continued playoff success of his 19-year tenure with the San Antonio Spurs, it seems closely guarded.

One of the ingredients, however, is undeniably winning Game 5s, and the Spurs can return home with a 3-2 lead if that trend continues Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Dating to the Spurs' first championship in 1999, they've gone 23-8 (.742) in Game 5s while posting a 124-79 (.611) in all others. That includes six straight Game 5 victories over the previous two seasons and a 15-1 mark during the team's five title seasons.

The gaudy mark in Game 5s stands in stark contrast to Game 4s, San Antonio's worst at 19-26. That was confirmed in Sunday's 114-105 home loss as San Antonio missed a chance to make Tuesday's contest a clincher.

Chris Paul broke out with 34 points and shot 11 of 19 after being held to seven on 3 of 11 in the Clippers' 100-73 defeat in Game 3. He's scored 20 or more six times in eight games against the Spurs this season.

He also committed two turnovers Sunday after having six in Game 3.

"We tried to come out aggressive, on both ends, offensively and defensively," Paul told the team's official website. "We've got to find a way to not let things like Game 3 happen for us, and respond like this. The great teams come out that way regardless, and hopefully we learned something."

Despite the loss, the Spurs drew some encouragement from their own point guard. Tony Parker scored 18 points after being held to 5.7 and 25.0 percent shooting in the first three games while playing through Achilles tightness.

"He's starting to feel a lot better," forward Tim Duncan said. "It's great to see him going to the basket, make some plays for us. That will pay big dividends for us with the rest of the series, something else they will have to game plan for."

Parker's inconsistency against the Clippers, however, has spanned the season with 12.5 points and 37.6 percent in the eight games.

Guard play as a whole was a huge advantage for Los Angeles in Game 4 with Paul, J.J. Redick and reserves Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers combining for 82 points.

"I could sense it right away, it was a different feeling the first five minutes of the game," Redick said. "Tonight, we were the aggressive team from the start."

Blake Griffin also bounced back from a poor showing in Game 3 with 20 points and 19 rebounds. He's averaged 25.0 and 11.8 in his last eight against San Antonio.

The Spurs got 26 points from Kawhi Leonard, while Duncan added 22 and 14 rebounds. Leonard has probably been the series' most consistent offensive player, averaging 24.8 points and shooting 60.0 percent and 56.3 percent from 3-point range.

Popovich, however, expects more out of the Defensive Player of the Year along with Danny Green in guarding Redick, who was 6 of 12 after going 10 of 32 in the first three games.

"No matter who we had on him, both Kawhi and Danny, didn't do a very good job of playing him the way he needs to be played, so he had the better of them through the whole evening for sure," said Popovich, who has guided the Spurs to wins in four of their last five road playoff games.

The Clippers are 1-7 in Games 5 and 6 since returning to the playoffs in 2012.
