The Atlanta media is hammering Auburn unmercifully. Auburn's ole buddy, Max Howell who said Auburn was a juggernaut of power and would win the west and probably the SEC is now saying that Auburn had unrealistic expectations due to their talent and the media frenzy. Well, kiss my ass. No SHIT, Max. What a tool.
They now say Auburn is stupid beyond belief and that the Assitants are not out recruiting and basically everyone is in limbo. It seems as if Louder, Housel and Walker made a trip to Louisville last night in Louder's plane and met secretly with Petrino. Meanwhile they had already told Tubby he was history. Petrino surveyed the situation and said no thanks and now Auburn is caught between a rock and a hard place.
Their arrogance thinking they could fly in and wave a checkbook and walk out with a coach is absolutely unbelievable. The question is now, did they actually fire Tubby? If so he collects his 4 mil, if they renege and say they did not actually fire him then he cannot quit and collect his 4 mil. So Auburn has to find a coach quick or go through another year with a coach they don't want. Imagine that Bama and LSU and Georgia are not going to grab some recruits from this mess. Yeah, right!
There are no top name coaches out there, folks. Everything in the coaching circus is now a crap shoot. You may find a coach in the MAC or CUSA or a good asst, but it can and will be chancy. Expect the SEC commissioner to be blowing a gasket with Auburn's actions and also the ramifications will make the SEC look like crap when it comes to the UnGodly worship of college football.
Auburn could not have done anything "more stupider" than this. Bama has to be laughing their asses off. If Tubby can, he will take his money and laugh all the way to the bank and be coaching somewhere next fall.
As I said in an earlier post, the media jackals are in a feeding frenzy. Walker and Housel are nothing more than lackeys of Louder. Maybe, just maybe, someone at Auburn will step up and say enough is enough. Although I seriously doubt it.
