I wonder if some leaks will stop now.

President Trump on Friday ousted his White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and named his homeland security secretary, retired Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, to replace him in a major shake-up for a West Wing beset by chaos and infighting.

With his legislative agenda stalled six months into his presidency, Trump became convinced that Priebus was a “weak” leader and had been lobbied intensely by rival advisers to remove Priebus, an establishment-aligned Republican who has long had friction with Trump's inner-circle loyalists, according to White House officials.

“I am pleased to inform you that I have just named General/Secretary John F Kelly as White House Chief of Staff,” Trump tweeted on Friday afternoon. “He is a Great American and a Great Leader. John has also done a spectacular job at Homeland Security. He has been a true star of my Administration.”

I am a fan of anyone being appointed to a position after serving our armed services as a four star general. They are the best of the best.

Former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus appeared on Wolf Blitzer's The Situation Room insisting he was the one who handed in his resignation to President Donald Trump while repeating his support for General John Kelly, who will take his place.
After the infighting in Trump's administration was laid bare in an explosive interview from his new communications director Anthony Scaramucci, Trump announced a shake-up in the White House on Friday.
'I am pleased to inform you that I have just named General/Secretary John F Kelly as White House Chief of Staff. He is a Great American,' Trump wrote on Twitter.
Just two hours after the announcement, Priebus appeared on CNN, painting a rosy picture of his relationships with both Trump and Kelly.
He told Blitzer: 'This is not a situation where there's a lot of ill will feelings. This is good for the president, I think it's smart for him to pick General Kelly, and I think things are going to be run very well.'
Scaramucci sunk his claws in Priebus on Wednesday, branding him 'a f***ing paranoid schizophrenic' in a conversation with the New Yorker's Ryan Lizza.
Trump, who reportedly 'loved' the expletive-filled rant, was said to be unhappy about Priebus' unwillingness to fight back, according to an adviser who spoke to the Wall Street Journal.

President Trump announced Friday that he has named Homeland Security secretary John Kelly (pictured center in January) to be White House chief of staff

Both Scaramucci and Reince were aboard Air Force One with Trump before he announced the staff change in three tweets on Friday.
While it remains unclear whether it was precisely the moment he tweeted the stunning announcement, Trump was seen tapping away at his phone while he stood in the doorway of Air Force One.
After lauding Kelly, Trump wrote: 'I would like to thank Reince Priebus for his service and dedication to his country. We accomplished a lot together and I am proud of him!'
As Trump returned to Joint Base Andrews from a trip to New York, he told reporters: 'Reince is a good man. John Kelly will do a fantastic job. General Kelly has been a star, done an incredible job thus far – respected by everybody. He's a great, great American. Reince is a good man.'
Priebus then appeared on CNN, saying both he and Trump had an open line of communication.
He said: 'We talked about it yesterday. I resigned and he accepted....He wanted to go in a different direction and I support him in that.
'I think he was right to hit the reset button, and I think it's something the White House needs. It's healthy and I support him.'
Priebus went on to say: 'I'm always going to be a Trump fan. I look forward to helping him achieve his goals and his agenda for the American people.'
When Blitzer pressed him about why the president wanted a new chief of staff, Priebus said: 'I'm not going to get into that personal stuff. The president is a professional and I'm a professional. And professional people don't discuss private matters in public.'
And when he was asked about Scaramucci's searing comments, Priebus said: 'I'm not going to respond to it, I'm not going to get in the mud.'
Kelly starts Monday, the White House said, in a rapid turnaround that saw the embattled Priebus making an exit six months into the job.

Trump tweeted Friday afternoon that he had named John Kelly as White House chief of staff, and thanked prior chief Reince Priebus for his service

It was the second Friday shakeup in as many weeks. Last Friday, beleaguered press secretary Sean Spicer resigned on the day he learned Trump had hired Scaramucci.
Spicer is being succeeded by deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Huckabee Sanders told reporters roughly an hour after Trump sent his surprise tweet that Scaramucci's arrival was not related to Priebus' departure.
The president and Priebus had been talking about this change for two weeks, she said told a throng of journalists staking out her office.
'We all serve at the pleasure of the President,' she told DailyMail.com. 'In terms of timing I know everybody's got a lot of questions on that.'
She did not respond to a question from a journalist about the exact timing of Priebus' exit, which came a day, almost to the hour, after Scaramucci got caught excoriating the White House chief of staff.
'They've been talking about it for a while,' she told a reporter who wanted to know when Kelly was offered the job.
On Wednesday night, Scaramucci unloaded on Priebus, calling him a 'f****** paranoid schizophrenic' in a late-night phone interview with the New Yorker.

Trump tweeted Friday afternoon that he had named John Kelly as White House chief of staff, and thanked prior chief Reince Priebus for his service

Priebus resigned on Thursday, CNN reported – the same day the epic profanity-laden call became public.
Trump bragged that Kelly was one of his 'great stars' Friday during speech in New York, in a preview of the decision after a report said he wanted 'a general' to serve as White House chief of staff.
He had flown to the event aboard Air Force One on a flight that included both Priebus and Scaramucci, who is said to have called his nemesis 'Reince Penis' and 'Rancid Penis' according to an adviser who spoke to the Huffington Post.
Trump lavished praise on Kelly, a retired four-star general, who's been leading his charge to rid the country of violent, illegal immigrants during his remarks.
'I want to congratulate John Kelly who has done an incredible job of secretary of Homeland Security,' Trump told a New York crowd at an event about a crackdown on the MS-13 gang.
'Incredible,' he said as he continued to gush about Kelly. 'One of our real stars. Truly one of our stars. John Kelly is one of our great stars,' he added for emphasis. 'You know the border’s down 78 per cent,' Trump said.

Back at the White House, Huckabee Sanders told reporters staked out near her office, 'You guys have heard the news.'
'John Kelly, just a quick statement on him. John Kelly is one of the true stars of the administration. He's helped seal the border and reduce illegal immigration by 70 percent. He's respected by everyone, especially the people at the Department of Homeland Security. The entire administration loves him and no one is comparable.'
Continuing to read from a piece of paper, she said, 'He will start Monday morning and there will also be a cabinet meeting following his swearing in that morning.
'The president thanks Reince Priebus for his service. They accomplished a lot together. He was loyal in his service to the president, and the president thanks him and his family for their great service to the country, and he will always be a member of the Trump team.'
Thursday, as Priebus took on water, one White House official predicted the former Republican National Committee chairman would not last.
The president misses the campaign, the person said, and the people who were in his orbit then.

Retired Marine Gen. John Kelly has been toughened by war and tragedy

Retired Marine Gen. John Kelly has been toughened by war and tragedy.
The veteran of three tours in Iraq has a new mission: to steady the roiling Trump administration - and quiet the friendly fire - as White House chief of staff.
The battle-hardened commander is expected to bring a background of military discipline and order to his new duties.
Kelly retired in 2016 as head of US Southern Command before joining the Trump Cabinet.
As Homeland Security secretary, Kelly took the lead on some of Trump's most controversial policies, including his executive orders suspending the admission of refugees and temporarily barring visitors from several Muslim-majority nations.
Kelly joined the Marine Corps in 1970, carving out a reputation as a highly respected but often outspoken commander who could roil debate and issue unpopular directives on issues ranging from women in combat to the treatment of detainees at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, detention center.
He was the fifth person to lead the Department of Homeland Security, which includes agencies that protect the president, respond to disasters, enforce immigration laws, protect America's coastlines and secure air travel.
Kelly was the highest-ranking officer to lose a child in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan. Kelly's son, Marine 1st Lt. Robert Kelly, was killed in November 2010 in Afghanistan.
He retired from the military last year, wrapping up a three-year post as head of US Southern Command.

Kelly (pictured earlier in July) was the fifth person to lead the Department of Homeland Security, which includes agencies that protect the president, respond to disasters, enforce immigration laws, protect America's coastlines and secure air travel

In his final Pentagon news conference, Kelly spoke about the loss of his son - a topic he didn't often discuss publicly.
'To lose a child is - I can't imagine anything worse than that,' he said.
But, he added, 'when you lose one in combat - in my opinion - there's a pride that goes with it, that he didn't have to be there doing what he was doing. He wanted to be there. He volunteered'.
Kelly said he gets 'occasional letters from Gold Star families who are asking, 'Was it worth it?' And I always go back with this: It doesn't matter. That's not our question to ask as parents. That young person thought it was worth it, and that's the only opinion that counts.'
President Donald Trump tweeted that Kelly is 'a true star' of the administration. He has been serving as the secretary of homeland security.

Priebus hailed from the establishment wing of the party. So did Spicer, who had been Priebus' spokesman and then chief strategist, at the RNC.
And when the men came into the White House they filled mid and lower level positions with their own people instead of Trump loyalists.
CNN reported that the former Republican National Committee chair's' 189-day tenure was the shortest in modern presidential history.
One of Priebus' few remaining allies, Speaker Paul Ryan, resorted to football aphorisms to hail his fellow Wisconsinite.
'Reince Priebus has left it all out on the field, for our party and our country. Here is a guy from Kenosha, Wisconsin who revitalized the Republican National Committee and became White House chief of staff. He has served the president and the American people capably and passionately. He has achieved so much, and he has done it all with class. I could not be more proud to call Reince a dear friend,' Ryan said.
'I congratulate Secretary Kelly on his appointment, and look forward to working with him to advance our agenda.'

THE SPICE WAS RIGHT: Priebus' replacement came a week after White House press secretary Sean Spicer announced his resignation, after learning that Anthony Scaramucci was coming on as White House communications director

Amid the explosion of infighting on his White House staff, Trump had been telling people he wanted 'a general' to take charge of the operation as chief of staff.
The White House refused to say Thursday that Trump had confidence in Priebus, even after the New Yorker revealed that he was the subject of profanity laced comments by Scaramucci.
Huckabee Sanders wouldn't go into the details of the process that lead to Priebus' exit on Thursday but said: 'Look I think the President has been clear about his agenda since he started running for President and that certainly hasn't changed.'
Trump has openly told people he has lost faith in Priebus, the New York Timesreported Thursday, and has spoken about wanting 'a general' as chief of staff.
Priebus, the former Republican National Committee chair, had managed to hang on despite months of criticism on the job.
Trump also named generals to other prominent positions, installing Gen. John Mattis to run the Pentagon.
There were only hints of a staff shakeup as Trump boarded Air Force One Friday for a trip to New York. Both Priebus and Scaramucci came along. Scaramucci was spotted carrying a bag.

IT WAS A NICE RIDE: Reporters attempt to talk with Reince Priebus as he leaves the Joint Base Andrews after arriving from a trip to Ronkonkoma, New York with U.S. President Donald Trump, in Clinton, Maryland, U.S., July 28, 2017

The joint trip involving the bitter rivals came just hours after publication in the New Yorker of Scaramucci's extraordinary attack on Priebus, where he called him a 'f****** paranoid schizophrenic', and accused Steve Bannon of 'sucking his own c***'.
In a phone call with New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza late on Wednesday night, a 'worked up' Scaramucci took aim at the White House Chief of Staff, accusing him of leaking information to the press about him, and Chief Strategist.
The Mooch, as he has become known, accused Priebus of leaking word of a dinner he had Wednesday night with President Trump and Fox news host Sean Hannity, along with former Fox News president Bill Shine and first lady Melania Trump.
'Oh, Bill Shine is coming in. Let me leak the f***ing thing and see if I can c**k-block these people the way I c**k-blocked Scaramucci for six months,' he said, in reference to the months he was kept out of the White House, reportedly by Priebus, after having sold his company.

White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus (L), Homeland Security Secreary John Kelly (C), and Transporation Secretary Elaine Chao attend U.S. President Donald Trump address a joint session of the U.S. Congress on February 28, 2017 in the House chamber

He also went after senior strategist Stephen Bannon, accusing him of trying to build up his own image at the expense of President Trump.
'I'm not Steve Bannon, I'm not trying to suck my own c**k,' he said. 'I'm not trying to build my own brand off the f***ing strength of the President. I'm here to serve the country,' Scaramucci said.
Kelly spent four decades in the Marines, retiring in 2016.
His role has involved him in some of the flash points of early Trump administration policy, including a travel ban, a border wall, and other immigration enforcement issues.
In April, he said during a George Washington University speech that critics in Congress should 'shut up' if they don't like the laws his team enforces.
'If lawmakers do not like the laws they've passed and we are charged to enforce — then they should have the courage and skill to change the laws. Otherwise they should shut up and support the men and women on the front lines,' the Washington Times reported.

Last month, he touted the arrest of 66,000 illegal immigrants, going after Congress again as he backed up his troubled agency. 'DHS does not make the laws. Congress does, and we will enforce the laws that are passed by Congress, and I am offended when members of this institution [the House of Representatives] exert pressure and often threaten me and my officers to ignore the laws they make and I am sworn to uphold,' Kelly said.
He told CNN in April that so-called DREAMers brought here illegally as children would not be a deportation priority.
'My organization has not targeted these so-called DREAMers, DACA, and we have many, many more important criminals to go after and get rid of, and not the DACAs,' he said, referencing another program dealing with parents of children who are U.S. citizens.

[h=2]Trump LOVED the Mooch unloading on 'f***ing paranoid schizophrenic' Priebus - then took both of them for awkward trip on Air Force One[/h]

Anthony Scaramucci's expletive-filled rant about his White House colleagues was certainly not helpful to his long-term prospects at 1600 Penn, but the friend of the president isn't getting the boot quite yet. Loyalists of the president are casting Scaramucci's unbelievable conversation with a reporter as a bump in the road for the newest Trump aide. Scaramucci derided White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus 'a f***ing paranoid schizophrenic' and claimed that unlike chief strategist Steve Bannon he's not trying to 'suck my own c**k.' He then threatened to 'f***ing kill all the leakers' in the White House and report them to the 'F.B.I. and the f***ing Department of Justice.'
