trip to austria ...... need advice

i have never been to europe..........we are planning on going to gras, austria................i would like to see the other countries and would like to know ..........should i rent a car take the train or where should i go...................:nohead:


any advice will be taken into consideration.................thanks

my uncle leaves in Gras... is this on business or vacation.. If you are younger take the train, you will see more sites but you will walk more, when you go with a car people usually tend to go to one spot.. Also train would be cheaper, and your probably not used to the driving over there.. trust me i lived in 3 different countries in Europe and a American tourist can be spotted from miles away. lol

I've done this trip many times... My best time was renting a car over at Sixt rent'a'car (Audi A6 alot of fun) and hitting Austria's cities like Vienna, Salzburg etc... From Vienna its a nice drive up to Czech Republic and even Slovakia..

If you go down into Italy or West definitely get on a train.
